Dance Mother is the debut album of the synthpop duo Telepathe. It was released on January 26, 2009 via IAMSOUND Records and Cooperative Records. The album was produced by Dave Sitek of TV on the Radio. The US releases of the album contain 3 extra tracks: So Fine (Chairlift remix), Devil's Trident (The Big Pink Specialization Reality) and Michael (Atticus Ross remix). Music videos for "So Fine" and "Chrome's On It" were produced. Telepathe
Telepathe (pronounced ''telepathy'' and meant with some literal meaning) are an electronic pop duo from Brooklyn consisting of core members Busy Gangnes and Melissa Livaudais. The band also includes other occasional musicians, such as Ryan Lucero. Telepathe has toured with the Strokes' frontman Julian Casablancas, in addition to friend DJ Diplo, Ladytron and The Faint. Iamsound (stylized IAMSOUND; formerly Iamsound Records) is an American entertainment company based in Los Angeles and founded by Niki Roberton. Iamsound comprises a creative and marketing studio, visual artist management firm, and independent record label. Record label Iamsound launched as a record label in 2007, and released albums from artists including Florence and the Machine, Charli XCX, Lord Huron, Banks (singer), Banks, and Salem (American band), Salem. Dave Sitek
David Andrew Sitek (born September 6, 1972) is an American musician and record producer, known for his work with his band TV on the Radio. He has also worked with bands such as Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Liars, Foals, Celebration, Little Dragon, Beady Eye, and Weezer, and produced free jazz-influenced remixes of songs by artists such as Beck and Nine Inch Nails, and has contributed a solo track to the Red Hot Organization ''Dark Was the Night'' charity compilation. He is also a photographer and painter. In April 2008, Sitek was named number one in ''NMEs Future 50 list of the most forward thinking people in music today. In 2009, Sitek contributed a cover of "With a Girl Like You" to the AIDS benefit album, ''Dark Was the Night'', produced by the Red Hot Organization. TV on the Radio (TVOTR) is an American rock band from Brooklyn, New York, formed in 2001. The band consists of Tunde Adebimpe (vocals, loops), David Andrew Sitek (guitars, keyboards, loops), Kyp Malone (vocals, guitars, bass, loops), and Jaleel Bunton (drums, bass, vocals, loops, guitars). Gerard Smith (bass, keyboards, loops) was a member of the band from 2005 until his death in 2011. ''Pitchfork'' (formerly ''Pitchfork Media'') is an American online music publication (currently owned by Condé Nast) that was launched in 1995 by writer Ryan Schreiber as an independent music blog. Chairlift (band)
Chairlift was an American synth-pop band. Caroline Polachek and Aaron Pfenning formed Chairlift in 2005 while living in Boulder, Colorado, and Patrick Wimberly joined them when they moved to Brooklyn in 2007. In 2008, Chairlift released their debut album '' Does You Inspire You''. Pfenning left the band in 2010, and as a duo, Polachek and Wimberly released two more albums: 2012's ''Something'' and 2016's ''Moth'' before announcing the end of Chairlift in December 2016. Atticus Matthew Cowper Ross (born 16 January 1968) is an English musician, record producer, composer, and audio engineer. Along with Trent Reznor, he won the Academy Award for Best Original Score for ''The Social Network'' in 2010. In 2013, the pair won a Grammy Award for Best Score Soundtrack for Visual Media for their soundtrack to ''The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo''. Metacritic is a website that review aggregator, aggregates reviews of films, TV shows, music albums, video games and formerly, books. For each product, the scores from each review are averaged (a weighted arithmetic mean, weighted average). Metacritic was created by Jason Dietz, Marc Doyle, and Julie Doyle Roberts in 1999. The site provides an excerpt from each review and hyperlinks to its source. A color of green, yellow or red summarizes the critics' recommendations. It is regarded as the foremost online review aggregation site for the video game industry. Metacritic's scoring converts each review into a percentage, either mathematically from the mark given, or what the site decides subjectively from a qualitative review.
