The DBL Play-offs MVP is an annual Dutch Basketball League award given since to the league's most valuable player in the Playoffs of a given DBL season. The award was handed out for the first time in the 2004–05 season, but after then the award disappeared. In the 2013–14 season, the award would be handed out again. Dutch Basketball League
The Dutch Basketball League (DBL), formerly the Eredivisie, was the highest professional basketball league in the Netherlands, run by the Federatie Eredivisie Basketball (FEB). Since 2021, the league has been replaced by the Belgian-Dutch BNXT League. The league had a closed system: to participate, a team has to have enough money and potential. The league began in 1960 as the ''Eredivisie'' and was organized by the NBB and later the FEB. In 1977 the league introduced play-offs. As of 2019, the Dutch Basketball League consists of ten teams and plays under the FIBA rules. History 2010s Starting with the 2010–11 season, the Eredivisie changed its name to the Dutch Basketball League, shortly the DBL. Donar Groningen
Donar, also known as Donar Groningen, is a professional basketball club based in Groningen, Netherlands. The club competes in the BNXT League and its home arena is MartiniPlaza, which has a seating capacity of 4,350 people. Donar is one of the traditional first division clubs along with Den Bosch, as it entered the league years ago. The club won the national DBL championship seven times; in 1982, 2004, 2010, 2014, 2016, 2017 and 2018. Donar was runner-up in the seasons: 1998, 2006, 2011, 2015. 2020–21 Dutch Basketball League
The 2020–21 Dutch Basketball League (DBL) was the 61st season of the Dutch Basketball League, the highest professional basketball league in the Netherlands. The season started on 3 October 2020 and ended on 27 May 2021. It was the first season after the 2019–20 season was ended prematurely due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The league expanded to 12 teams with the addition of Yoast United, Almere Sailors and The Hague Royals. This marked the highest number of teams since the 2007–08 season. ZZ Leiden won its fourth national title after defeating Heroes Den Bosch in the Finals. On 15 October 2020, the season was suspended for at least four weeks due to government regulations regarding the pandemic. Landstede Zwolle
Landstede Hammers is a Dutch basketball club based in Zwolle. The club plays in the BNXT League, the Dutch top tier division. The club was founded as Cees Lubbers The Hammers in 1995. In 1999, the club’s name was changed into Landstede Hammers. In 2001, the club received its current name Landstede Basketbal as the team became part of the same-named educational institution in Zwolle. The home games of the club are played in the Landstede Sportcentrum. In its existence, Landstede won the DBL championship one time in 2019. The 2018–19 Dutch Basketball League (DBL) was the 59th season of the Dutch Basketball League, the highest professional basketball league in the Netherlands. The regular season started on 6 October 2018 and ended 30 April 2019. The best eight teams qualify for the playoffs which start on 2 May 2019. Donar was the defending champion. The season saw Landstede Zwolle win its first domestic championship, after defeating defending champions Donar in the finals. Format Due to the increase of teams from nine to ten, the format for the DBL season was changed. The eight highest-placed teams during the regular season qualify for the play-offs, while the two last-placed teams are eliminated. In the quarter-finals, a best-of-three series is played. The 2017–18 Dutch Basketball League (DBL) was the 58th season of the Dutch Basketball League, the highest professional basketball league in the Netherlands. The regular season started on 7 October 2017 and ended 21 April 2018. Donar is the defending champion. The playoffs started on 1 May and ended 29 May 2018. Donar captured its seventh championship, its third in a row and fourth in fifth years, after defeating ZZ Leiden in the finals. Forward (basketball)
In the sport of basketball, there are five players play per team, each assigned to positions. Historically, these players have been assigned, to positions defined by the role they play on the court, from a strategic point of view. The three main positions are guard, forward, and center, with the standard team featuring two guards, two forwards, and a center. The 2016–17 Dutch Basketball League was the 57th season of the Dutch Basketball League, the highest professional basketball league in the Netherlands. Brandyn Curry
Brandyn Curry (born October 2, 1991) is an American professional basketball player, who lastly played for U-BT Cluj-Napoca. Curry played five seasons collegiately for Harvard. College career Curry played collegiately at Harvard. As a sophomore, Curry was a second-team All-Ivy selection for the 2011–12 Ivy League men's basketball season. In September 2012, he was involved in a cheating scandal that involved about 125 athletes and students, leading to his withdrawal. Curry and teammate Kyle Casey, who was also ensnared, withdrew from school in hopes of preserving their final year of athletic eligibility following the investigation. Heroes Den Bosch is a Dutch professional basketball club based in 's-Hertogenbosch. The club plays in the BNXT League since 2021 and in the top basketball division in the Netherlands since 1972. The 2014–15 Dutch Basketball League season will be the 55th season of the Dutch Basketball League, the highest professional basketball league in the Netherlands. The defending champion was Donar from Groningen. The league started the season with nine teams, after Matrixx Magixx didn't enter. In December the number of teams was reduced to eight, after Den Helder Kings went bankrupt. Top seeded SPM Shoeters won the league, by beating Donar 4–1 in the Finals. Teams Before the season Matrixx Magixx announced it was withdrawing from the DBL, because the club could not complete its budget. Consequently, the league started with nine teams instead of ten.
