2014–15 Dutch Basketball League
The 2014–15 Dutch Basketball League season will be the 55th season of the Dutch Basketball League, the highest professional basketball league in the Netherlands. The defending champion was Donar from Groningen. The league started the season with nine teams, after Matrixx Magixx didn't enter. In December the number of teams was reduced to eight, after Den Helder Kings went bankrupt. Top seeded SPM Shoeters won the league, by beating Donar 4–1 in the Finals. Teams Before the season Matrixx Magixx announced it was withdrawing from the DBL, because the club could not complete its budget. Consequently, the league started with nine teams instead of ten. The 2013–14 Dutch Basketball League season was the 54th season of the Dutch Basketball League, the highest professional basketball league in the Netherlands. The defending champion is Zorg en Zekerheid Leiden. GasTerra Flames from Groningen won their 4th title by beating SPM Shoeters Den Bosch 4–3 in the Finals. Teams All teams from the 2012-13 season returned. The club EiffelTowers Den Bosch changed its name to ''SPM Shoeters Den Bosch'' after their new sponsor SPM Shoes & Boots and Stepco BSW became Maxxcom BSW. During the season Rotterdam Basketbal College changed its name in ''Challenge Sports Rotterdam'' after Challenge Sports became their new main sponsor. BV Den Helder was a professional basketball club from Den Helder, Netherlands. The team had several seasons in the Dutch Basketball League, the highest professional league in the Netherlands. The club is currently inactive, however Den Helder Suns has replaced the club as professional team from Den Helder. The club has won the Dutch League six times and the NBB Cup once. The club had a long history of financial troubles, with the club being dissolved three times. The last time the club appeared at the highest level was in 2014, as the professional team was declared bankrupt during that season. Apollohal
The Apollohal is an indoor sports hall located in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. Built in 1934 as a tennis hall, the complex was later designated for expositions and ice skating. Since it was renovated in 2004–2005, it has mainly been used as basketball hall. It is the current home arena of Apollo Amsterdam, a professional team that plays in the Dutch Basketball League (DBL). The flag of Amsterdam is the official flag for Amsterdam, the capital of the Netherlands. Apollo Amsterdam is a professional basketball team based in Amsterdam. The club plays its games in the BNXT League, the Dutch top league. The club was founded in 2011 and has been playing in the highest national level for years. The amateur section of the club is known as BC Apollo. Basketball Stars Weert, commonly known as BSW, was a professional basketball team based in Weert, Netherlands. The club was founded in 1968 and played in the Dutch Basketball League. Home games of the team are played in the Sporthal Boshoven. The club was a regular participant in the Dutch top division, as the side from Weert appeared in the Eredivisie (later DBL) for 34 straight seasons.
