2016–17 Dutch Basketball League
The 2016–17 Dutch Basketball League was the 57th season of the Dutch Basketball League, the highest professional basketball league in the Netherlands. The season started on October 8, 2016 and ended May 25, 2017. Donar successfully defended its title. Teams Den Bosch and BSW were both close to bankruptcy in the offseason, but managed to stay alive. Challenge Sports Rotterdam changed its name to Forward Lease Rotterdam, after they got a new main sponsor. On November 1, Den Bosch changed its name to New Heroes. Foreign players The number of foreign players during the 2016–17 season was restricted to four per DBL team. Regular season The Regular season started on 8 October 2016 and finished 8 April 2017. Standings Play-offs The play-offs started on April 15 and ended on May 28, 2017. In the quarterfinals a best-of-three format is used, while in the semifinals and finals in a best-of-seven format. The seasons started on October 6, 2015 and ended May 27, 2016. The defending champion was SPM Shoeters Den Bosch. Donar won its fifth national title, after beating Landstede Landstede Hammers is a Dutch basketball club based in Zwolle. The club plays in the BNXT League, the Dutch top tier division. Heroes Den Bosch is a Dutch professional basketball club based in 's-Hertogenbosch. The club plays in the BNXT League since 2021 and in the top basketball division in the Netherlands since 1972. Founded as EBBC in 1951, the club had several sponsored names the following decades. Den Bosch has won a record seventeen Dutch championships, seven Dutch Cup and two Dutch Supercup titles. Landstede Sportcentrum
The Landstede Sportcentrum is an indoor sports complex located in Zwolle, Netherlands, which is used as a sports arena and was opened in 2010. It is the home of basketball team Landstede Hammers. The "centre court", which is used by both the club has a capacity of 1,200 people. The complex is owned by ROC Landstede, a company that is also main sponsor of the basketball and volleyball clubs. Zwolle () is a city and municipality in the Northeastern Netherlands. Topsportcentrum Rotterdam
Topsportcentrum Rotterdam is an indoor arena located in Rotterdam next to the Feijenoord Stadion. The arena opened in 2000 and has a capacity of 2,500 seats. It holds many sports events in various sports and levels, such as international World and European Championships and Dutch National Championships. The complex exists as two sporting halls. The first is located on the first floor and is 48x28 metres, while the pitch is 40x20 metres. On the second floor another sports hall of 44x24 metres is located. The pitch in this hall is 40x20 metres also, but the underground is rebound ace hardcourt. As well as the sporting facilities, various hotel, restaurant and cafe facilities are available. The Kalverdijkje is an indoor sports complex in Leeuwarden, Netherlands. The complex has a swimming pool, and hosts basketball, volleyball and korfball matches. It is the home arena of professional basketball club Aris Leeuwarden of the Dutch Basketball League.
