Topsportcentrum Rotterdam
Topsportcentrum Rotterdam is an indoor arena located in Rotterdam next to the Feijenoord Stadion. The arena opened in 2000 and has a capacity of 2,500 seats. It holds many sports events in various sports and levels, such as international World and European Championships and Dutch National Championships. The complex exists as two sporting halls. The first is located on the first floor and is 48x28 metres, while the pitch is 40x20 metres. On the second floor another sports hall of 44x24 metres is located. The pitch in this hall is 40x20 metres also, but the underground is rebound ace hardcourt. As well as the sporting facilities, various hotel, restaurant and cafe facilities are available. Regilio Benito Tuur (born 12 August 1967) is a former Dutch boxer who was World Boxing Organization's super featherweight champion. Prior to turning professional and winning the world title, Tuur knocked out reigning world champion Kelcie Banks in the first round at the 1988 Summer Olympics in Seoul. The 2006 Sky Radio Tennis Masters were held from 10 to 17 December 2006 in the Topsportcentrum Rotterdam in Rotterdam, Netherlands. Robin Haase won his first Masters title by beating defending champion Raemon Sluiter in the final. Michaëlla Krajicek won her third consecutive Masters title after beating Elise Tamaëla in a replay of the 2005 final. Bep Van Klaveren
Lambertus "Bep" van Klaveren (26 September 1907 – 12 February 1992) was a Dutch boxer, who won the gold medal in the featherweight division at the 1928 Summer Olympics in Amsterdam. Van Klaveren remains the only Dutch boxer to have won an Olympic gold medal. His younger brother Piet competed as a boxer at the 1952 Summer Olympics. Biography Born in Rotterdam as Lambertus Steenhorst, he adopted the name of his stepfather Pieter van Klaveren when he was eight. After primary school, he worked as a butcher's assistant and fought in his spare time. He seriously took up boxing aged 16, and around that time changed to a vegetarian diet believing it fits better for a boxer.
