Pierre Bérégovoy
Pierre Eugène Bérégovoy (; 23 December 1925 – 1 May 1993) was a French politician who served as Prime Minister of France under President François Mitterrand from 2 April 1992 to 29 March 1993. He was a member of the Socialist Party and Member of Parliament for Nièvre's 1st constituency. Early career Pierre Bérégovoy was born in Déville-lès-Rouen to a French mother and a Ukrainian father (original family name ''Береговий'' in Ukrainian or ''Береговой'' in Russian) who had left the Russian Empire after the Russian Civil War. Alfred Louis Delattre (26 June 1850 – 12 January 1932), also known as Révérend Père Delattre, was a French archaeologist, born at Déville-lès-Rouen. Delattre made substantial discoveries in the ruins of ancient Carthage including an ancient Necropolis. Sent as a missionary to Algeria, he became chaplain of the church of St. Louis of Carthage and conservator of the archaeological museum at Algiers. Cailly (river)
The Cailly () is a river in Normandy, France, in length, flowing through the department of Seine-Maritime. It is a right tributary of the Seine. Geography The Cailly has its source in the territory of the commune of Cailly. Taking a southward journey, it flows through Fontaine-le-Bourg, meeting its principal tributary, the Clérette at Montville. It then flows through Malaunay, Houlme, Notre-Dame-de-Bondeville, Maromme, Déville-lès-Rouen and finally Rouen where it joins the Seine on its right bank. Syston
Syston ( ) is a town and civil parish in the district of Charnwood in Leicestershire, England. The population was 11,508 at the 2001 census, rising to 12,804 at the 2011 census. Overview There has been a settlement on the site for over 1,000 years, the earliest records being in the Domesday Book as ''Sitestone''. The Roman road known as the Fosse Way passes through Syston, which is now largely a commuter town for the city of Leicester. Only the village of Thurmaston to the south separates it from Leicester. The large and impressive Church of St Peter and St Paul is the most ancient building in Syston, built in pink granite and white limestone with a proud west tower topped by a lozenge frieze, battlements and pinnacles.
