Dwaar (2013 Film)
''Dwaar'' ( as, দুৱাৰ, ''The Voyage out'') is a 2013 Indian Assamese drama film directed by Bidyut Chakravarty, with his own screenplay, and produced by Sanjive Narain and Bidyut Chakravarty himself. It was adapted from the Assamese short story ''Bahiroloi Jowa Baat'' by Apurba Sarma. ''Dwaar'' stars Kapil Bora, Zerifa Wahid and Mahika Sharma in the lead roles. The literal translation of the title means Door. The film won the Best Director, Best Music and Best Audiography award in the Assam State Film Awards for the period 2010–2012. Plot The story is set against the backdrop of the Assam agitation and its aftermath. Kapil Bora
Kopil Bora ( as, কপিল বৰা) is an Assamese actor, anchor and All India Radio voice artist. He debuted in Bidyut Chakravarty's 2002 Assamese film ''Gun Gun Gane Gane'' and known for his performance in ''Mon'' (2002), ''Ahir Bhairav'' (2008), ''Jetuka Pator Dore'' (2011) and ''Dwaar'' (2013). Early life Kopil Bora was born on 30 March. He went to high school at Don Bosco High School, Guwahati and later attended college at Cotton College, Guwahati. He currently lives in Guwahati. Filmfare Awards Bangla is the Bengali segment of the annual Filmfare Awards, presented by The Times Group to honour the artistic and cinematic excellence in Bengali. The first installment of the awards were held for Bengali, Assamese and Odia films in a ceremony on 29 March 2007. The award ceremony was discontinued for Two Times respectively 2013, 2015 and 2016, then again continued from 2017 and now only given to Bengali Film Industry. The Prag Cine Awards 2013 ceremony, presented by the Prag Network, honored the actors, technical achievements, and films censored in 2012 from Assam and took place on April 14, 2013, at the GMCH Auditorium in Guwahati, India. Bollywood director Kalpana Lajmi, actors Pooja Bhatt, Adil Hussain were present at the event while veteran Assamese actor Pranjal Saikia and Zerifa Wahid hosted the show. Actor Biju Phukan was honoured with the lifetime Achievement Award for his contribution towards the Assamese film Industry. Kapil Bora and Barsha Rani Bishaya won respectively Best Actor Male and Best Actor Female awards for their performance in ''Dwaar'' and ''Me & My Sister''. Nipon Goswami
Nipon Goswami (3 September 1942 – 27 October 2022) was an Indian actor and theatre artist associated with Assamese language, Assamese-language films. He was one of the veteran actors of Assamese Film Industry. He started his acting career as a stage actor and later established himself as a film actor. Personal life Goswami was born on 3 September 1942 at Kolibari in Tezpur, Assam. His father Chandradhar Goswami was a famous actor and his mother Nirupama Goswami was a singer. He did his primary schooling at Kolibari LP School. After that, he moved to Tezpur Govt. HS School. He died after suffering from heart-related ailments on 27 October 2022, at the age of 80. Acting career After completing his B.A. he went to Calcutta for the interview at Pune Film Institute. In 1965, he went to Pune for his acting training. ''The Sentinel'' is an English daily newspaper launched in 1983 in the city of Guwahati, in the state of Assam, India. It has four editions published simultaneously from Guwahati, Dibrugarh, Shillong and Itanagar. ''The Sentinel'' caters to the entire North Eastern region of India. History It was first published in 1983 and senior journalist Dhirendra Nath Bezbaruah was selected as the founder editor.
