Dunleith Township is one of twenty-three townships in Jo Daviess County, Illinois, USA. As of the 2010 census, its population was 3,820 and it contained 1,713 housing units. It was formed from Menominee Township on March 2, 1865. Geography Dunleith Township is in the very northwest corner of Illinois, abutting Wisconsin to the north and Iowa to the west across the Mississippi River. The Julien Dubuque Bridge is a bridge over the Mississippi River that connects Dubuque, Iowa and East Dubuque, Illinois. The bridge is part of U.S. Route 20 (US 20). It is one of two automobile bridges over the Mississippi in the area (the Dubuque–Wisconsin Bridge north links Dubuque with Wisconsin), and is listed in the National Register of Historic Places. Galena, Illinois
Galena is the largest city in and the county seat of Jo Daviess County, Illinois, with a population of 3,308 at the 2020 census. A section of the city is listed on the National Register of Historic Places as the Galena Historic District.
