Ducati Cucciolo
The Ducati Cucciolo was a 4-stroke clip-on engine for motorized bicycles conceived during and shortly after World War II by a Turin lawyer, Aldo Farinelli, and developed with a self-taught engineer, Aldo Leoni. During the war, Aldo Farinelli began working with the small Turinese firm Siata (Società Italiana per Applicazioni Tecniche Auto-Aviatorie) with the idea of developing a small engine that could be mounted on a bicycle. Farinelli's and Leone's first prototype was running on the streets of Turin in Autumn of 1944. The yapping sound of the engine's short stubby exhaust inspired the name ''Cucciolo'' ("little puppy") for the motor. Weighing a little over and giving when installed in a bicycle. Borgo Panigale
Borgo Panigale (Bolognese dialect: ''Al Båurg'', ''Båurg Panighèl'') was a district of Bologna, northern Italy. Located in the city's western part, between the rivers Lavino and Reno, it had a population of 24,935 in 2009. Since 2016 it has been part of the Borgo Panigale-Reno district. Until 1937 it was an autonomous municipality, but was annexed to Bologna under the Fascist government. It is home to motorbike manufacturer Ducati, and Bologna Airport. The Ducati 65T, and the 65TL (Turismo Lusso) luxury version, were motorcycles manufactured by Ducati Meccanica S.p.A., from 1952 to 1958, coming out in the same year as the 98. The 65TS (Turismo Sport) appeared in 1955, ten pounds lighter, with a different gas tank, lower handlebars and dual seat. Ducati 60
The Ducati 60 of 1949-50 was Ducati's first in a 19 model year run of four-stroke, OHV single cylinder motorcycles that ended with the 125 Cadet/4 of 1967. The 60 used the ''60 cc'' pullrod engine of the Cucciolo T3 moped, and a frame supplied by Caproni. The 60 Sport (actually 65 cc) of 1950-52 used Ducati's own frame, making it their first complete motorcycle. For 1953 the name was changed to 65 Sport. They were followed by the 65T, 65TL, 65TS series. Moped
A moped ( ) is a type of small motorcycle, generally having a less stringent licensing requirement than full motorcycles or automobiles. The term used to mean a similar vehicle except with both bicycle pedals and a motorcycle engine. Mopeds typically travel only a bit faster than bicycles on public roads. Mopeds are distinguished from motor scooters in that the latter tend to be more powerful and subject to more regulation. Siata (''Società Italiana Auto Trasformazioni Accessori'' in English ''Italian Car Transformation Accessories Company'') was an Italian car tuning shop and manufacturer founded in 1926 by amateur race car driver Giorgio Ambrosini. Siata initially sold performance parts to modify and tune cars manufactured by Fiat. After World War II, the company began making its own sports cars under the Siata brand until its eventual bankruptcy following the first Arab oil embargo in the mid-1970s.
