''Drunk'' is the third studio album by American musician Thundercat. It was released on February 24, 2017 by Brainfeeder. It features guest appearances from Kenny Loggins, Michael McDonald, Kendrick Lamar, Wiz Khalifa, Mac Miller, and Pharrell. It is his first studio album in nearly four years, his last studio album being ''Apocalypse''. ''Drunk'' received positive reviews from music critics. A ChopNotSlop remix from OG Ron C, DJ Candlestick, & The Chopstars entitled 'Drank' was released as a special edition purple vinyl record. Critical reception ''Drunk'' received general praise from music critics. On the review aggregator website Metacritic the album received an aggregate score of 80 based on 26 reviews indicating "generally favourable reviews". Aggregator AnyDecentMusic? gave it 7.9 out of 10, based on their assessment of the critical consensus. Thundercat (musician)
Stephen Lee Bruner (born October 19, 1984), better known by his stage name Thundercat, is an American bass guitarist, singer, producer, and songwriter from Los Angeles. First coming to prominence as a member of crossover thrash band Suicidal Tendencies, he has since released four solo studio albums and is noted for his work with producer Flying Lotus and his appearances on Kendrick Lamar's 2015 album ''To Pimp a Butterfly''. In 2016, Thundercat won a Grammy for Best Rap/Sung Performance for his work on the track " These Walls" from ''To Pimp a Butterfly''. In 2020, Thundercat released his fourth studio album titled '' It Is What It Is'', which earned him a Grammy Award for Best Progressive R&B Album. Cameron Jibril Thomaz (born September 8, 1987), better known by his stage name Wiz Khalifa, is an American rapper, singer, songwriter, and actor. He released his debut album, ''Show and Prove'', in 2006 and signed to Warner Bros. Records in 2007. His Eurodance-influenced single " Say Yeah" received urban radio airplay, charting on the Rhythmic Top 40 and Hot Rap Tracks charts in 2008, becoming his first minor hit. Metacritic is a website that review aggregator, aggregates reviews of films, TV shows, music albums, video games and formerly, books. For each product, the scores from each review are averaged (a weighted arithmetic mean, weighted average). Metacritic was created by Jason Dietz, Marc Doyle, and Julie Doyle Roberts in 1999. The site provides an excerpt from each review and hyperlinks to its source. A color of green, yellow or red summarizes the critics' recommendations. It is regarded as the foremost online review aggregation site for the video game industry. Metacritic's scoring converts each review into a percentage, either mathematically from the mark given, or what the site decides subjectively from a qualitative review. The Chopstars, also known as Chopstar DJs or simply Chopstars, are a collective that include American DJs and turntablists that perform chopped and screwed remixes of popular music under Chop Not Slop Ent. including Drake's 2011 '' Take Care'' album, as well as Little Dragon's 2014 ''Nabuma Rubberband'' album. and recently released Savage Mode II from Metro Boomin and 21 Savage. Omar Barton (born June 21, 1985), better known by his stage name DJ Candlestick, is an American DJ, radio personality, and record producer. He is a member of The Chopstars of the ChopNotSlop subgenre, former on-air personality for KQBT 93.7 The Beat Houston, The Choice 90.9 KTSU (his alma mater) and DJ for The Nice Guys. He is the DJ behind Chop Care as well as many other ChopNotSlop mixtapes. He is currently a mixer on Drake’s radio station Sound42 on SiriusXM. Biography DJ Candlestick has been DJing since 2001. ''Apocalypse'' is the second studio album by American musician Thundercat. It was released in July 2013 under the label Brainfeeder. In February 2014, Thundercat released a double video on the MySpace website for the 10th and 11th tracks from the album, respectively titled "Evangelion" and "We'll Die", which were both directed by the photographer B+ (Brian Cross), who also shot the album art.
