East Staffordshire
East Staffordshire is a local government district with borough status in Staffordshire in England. It has two main towns: Burton upon Trent and Uttoxeter. Villages in the area include Abbots Bromley, Stretton, Tutbury, Barton-under-Needwood, Rolleston on Dove, Hanbury, Kingstone, Marchington, Mayfield and The Heath. The district was formed on 1 April 1974 by the merger of the former county borough of Burton upon Trent with the Urban District of Uttoxeter, and the Rural Districts of Tutbury and Uttoxeter. Uttoxeter railway station () serves the town of Uttoxeter, Staffordshire, England. It is on the Crewe-Derby Line, which is also a Community rail line known as the ''North Staffordshire line''. The A515 is a primary route in England, which runs from Lichfield in Staffordshire to Buxton in Derbyshire. Route The A515 begins off the A51 road just outside Lichfield. It crosses the Trent and Mersey Canal and passes through the villages of Kings Bromley and Yoxall. As it crosses the River Dove, the road enters Derbyshire. From the 1990s, of north Leicestershire, south Derbyshire and southeast Staffordshire have been planted in an attempt to blend ancient woodland with newly planted areas to create a new national forest.
