Douro Dukes
The Colborne Cramahe Hawks were a Canadian Junior ice hockey team based in Colborne, Ontario. The Hawks were members of the World United Hockey League. Competing in the Greater Metro Junior 'A' Hockey League from 2007 until 2014, the Hawks originated as the Douro Dukes of Douro, Ontario in 2007. From 2008 until 2014, the team was known as the Bucks from Beaverton, Ontario and later Bobcaygeon, Ontario. History The Douro Dukes were one of six expansion teams for the 2007–08 GMHL season. On September 6, 2007, the Douro Dukes played their first-ever game at the Ennismore Arena against the Innisfil Lakers. John Minarik made 27 saves to record the Dukes first victory and first-ever shutout by a score of 2–0. Tony DeCarlo scored both the first and second goal in franchise history in the third period of this very close contest. Nipissing Alouettes
The Nipissing Alouettes were a Canadian Junior ice hockey team based out of Sturgeon Falls, Ontario. They played in the Greater Metro Junior 'A' Hockey League. History The Alouettes follow in the town's hockey tradition of the Sturgeon Falls Lynx who played in the town from 1994 until 2002 when they became the North Bay Skyhawks. The first game in the Alouettes' history took place on September 9, 2006, against the Richmond Hill Rams. The result was a 5–1 loss. The first goal in Alouette history was scored by Matt Mascarin. Justin Longchamps took the loss in goal in the first game in Alouettes history, but played well facing more than 50 shots. The first home game in the team's history was on September 22, 2006, against the Bradford Rattlers, a 6–3 loss. The Als celebrated their first victory on September 29, 2006. Nikolai Skladnichenko
Nikolai Skladnichenko (born July 13, 1994) is a Russian professional ice hockey forward. He is currently playing with Nybro Vikings IF of the HockeyAllsvenskan. Playing career Skladnichenko first played junior in North America with the Bobcaygeon Bucks of the Greater Toronto Midget Hockey League. Skladnichenko returned to Russia and made his Kontinental Hockey League debut playing with Metallurg Novokuznetsk during the 2012–13 KHL season. On July 23, 2015, Skladnichenko returned to North America to pursue a professional career, signing a one-year American Hockey League contract with the Toronto Marlies. After attending the Marlies training camp for the 2015–16 season, Skladnichenko was unable to make the roster and was re-assigned to attend the training camp of ECHL affiliate, the Orlando Solar Bears. Seguin Huskies
The Seguin Huskies are a Canadian Junior ice hockey team based in Humphrey, Ontario, Canada. They play in the Greater Metro Junior A Hockey League (GMHL). History The Seguin Huskies joined the GMHL in spring 2013. The Huskies are the first junior team in Humphrey since the Seguin Bruins of the Ontario Junior Hockey League folded in 2010. On September 14, 2013, the Huskies played their first game as a franchise, traveling to Bracebridge, Ontario, to play the second year Bracebridge Phantoms. At 3:46 into the first period, Connor Scott scored the first goal in franchise history. Tanner Emerson made 28 saves to earn the team's first victory, a 15–3 romp of the Phantoms. Sturgeon Falls Lumberjacks
The West Nipissing Lynx are a junior ice hockey team based in Sturgeon Falls, Ontario, Canada. They play in the Greater Metro Junior A Hockey League (GMHL). History The Sturgeon Falls Lumberjacks were announced in summer 2010. The Lumberjacks replaced the folded Nipissing Alouettes, who left the GMHL in 2009. On September 10, 2010, the Lumberjacks played their first game against the Elliot Lake Bobcats in Elliot Lake. The Bobcats won the game 7–2. On September 12, 2010, the Lumberjacks played on the road against the Powassan Dragons and earned their franchise's first victory with a 5–2 win. The Cochrane Crunch are a Canadian junior ice hockey team based out of Cochrane, Ontario, Canada. They play in the Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League and are former members of the Greater Metro Junior A Hockey League. The team was known as the Elliot Lake Bobcats in Elliot Lake, Ontario, until the 2014–15 season. History The expansion of the Bobcats made them the tenth team in the independent Greater Metro Junior A Hockey League (GMHL) and one of six 2007 expansion teams. Deseronto Storm
The Deseronto Storm were a Junior ice hockey team based in Deseronto, Ontario, Canada. They played in the Empire B Junior C Hockey League but are former original members of the Greater Metro Junior 'A' Hockey League. History 2006-07 The Thunder filled a gap left since 1998 in the Deseronto community. The Quinte Hawks of the Metro Junior A Hockey League left a troubled legacy in the town of Deseronto. The team moved to Bancroft, Ontario after the Metro folded in 1998. In early 2006, it became quite apparent that hockey was coming back to the town. As a member of the new renegade GMHL, the Thunder hope to bring junior hockey back to Deseronto for good. Bradford Rattlers
The Bradford Rattlers are a Canadian junior ice hockey team based out of Bradford, Ontario, and members of the Greater Metro Junior A Hockey League. The Rattlers, then known as the Bradford Bulls, were bought out towards the end of the 2005–06 season by a local group of investors for the purpose of moving the team up to Junior "A" from the Georgian Mid-Ontario Junior C Hockey League. History The Bradford Vasey Juniors were founded in 1971 as they joined the South-Central Junior "D" Hockey League. The league soon became the Central Junior "C", then the Mid-Ontario Junior "C", and finally after merging with the Georgian Junior "C" league became the Georgian Mid-Ontario Junior "C" Hockey League.
