Doonbeg GAA
Doonbeg GAA is a Gaelic Athletic Association club from the village of Doonbeg in County Clare, Ireland. The club only plays gaelic football, and have won the Clare Senior Football Championship on eighteen occasions. They are the 2010 champions, having defeated Liscannor in the final by 0-11 to 0-7. History The club was founded in 1954 and won its first senior championship in 1955. On two occasions Doonbeg succeeded in recording a 3 in a row double (championship and league) 1967-68-69, and 1972-73-74. The club's greatest achievement was the winning of the 1998 Munster Club Championship, the first Clare club to capture this title. Padraig Gallagher led the side to defeat Moyle Rovers of Tipperary by 0-07 to 0-04. Another notable day for the club was Clare's 1992 Munster championship victory over Kerry in the Gaelic Grounds. Doonbeg
Doonbeg () is a village in west County Clare, Ireland on the Atlantic coast. The surrounding natural environment has supported its development as a tourist resort. The area was officially classified as part of the West Clare Gaeltacht, an Irish-speaking community, until 1956. Location Doonbeg is situated on the N67 between the towns of Kilkee and Milltown Malbay. The nearest large towns are Kilrush and Kilkee, which are both approximately 7 miles away. The village is located in civil parish of Killard. It is part of the parish of Doonbeg (Killard) in the Roman Catholic Diocese of Killaloe. Doonbeg is surrounded by farmland, some of which is used for dairy farming. There is also an area of bogland near the village. All-Ireland Senior Football Championship 1992
The 1992 All-Ireland Senior Football Championship was the 106th staging of the All-Ireland Senior Football Championship, the Gaelic Athletic Association's premier inter-county Gaelic football tournament. The championship began on 17 May 1992 and ended on 20 September 1992. Down entered the championship as the defending champions; however, they were defeated by Derry in the Ulster semi-final. Clare shocked many people by defeating Kerry in the Munster final to win only their second provincial senior title (their first having come in 1917); they narrowly lost to Dublin in the All-Ireland semi-final. The Clare Under-21 Football Championship is an annual Gaelic Athletic Association club competition between the under-21 Gaelic Football clubs in Clare. The current (2022) champions are Ennistymon who defeated their North Clare neighbours Corofin in the final on a score line of 1-10 to 0-06. The Clare Junior A Football Championship (abbreviated to Clare JAFC) is an annual Gaelic football club competition organised by the Clare County Board of the GAA for clubs below the Intermediate and Senior grades. It is contested by the top-ranking Junior clubs in County Clare, Ireland. It is the third-tier adult competition of the Clare football pyramid. The 2023 Clare Junior Champions are Killimer who defeated Éire Óg, Ennis to be crowned champions after extra time for their first at this grade. Kilmurry-Ibrickane GAA is a Gaelic Athletic Association club in County Clare, Ireland. The club only plays gaelic football, and were Clare Senior Football Champions last in 2020, and won the Munster Senior Club Football Championship in 2004 and 2009. History A club bearing the parish name came into existence in 1914. Prior to this a team from the village of Coore reached the senior county final in 1890, losing to Ennis Dalcassians. In 1924 the club reached its first senior county final, losing to Kilrush Shamrocks. In 1933 the club won its first Clare Senior Football Championship defeating St. Senan's, Kilkee in the final. In 1935 two teams from the parish competed in a historic county final with Quilty the victors. The Clare Intermediate Football Championship is an annual Gaelic football competition organised by the Clare GAA, Clare County Board of the Gaelic Athletic Association for the second tier football teams in the county of County Clare, Clare in Ireland. The 2022 Intermediate Champions are Kildysart GAA, Kildysart who defeated Cooraclare GAA, Cooraclare to win their third title at this grade. Format The series of games are played during the summer and autumn months with the county final usually being played at Cusack Park (Ennis), Cusack Park. The Gaelic Grounds, know for sponsorshop reasons as the TUS Gaelic Grounds, is the principal GAA stadium in the Irish city of Limerick, home to the Limerick hurling and football teams. It has a capacity of 44,023. History 9 October 1926 saw first steps taken towards creating the Limerick Gaelic Grounds as a GAA stadium of note. A farm containing was purchased at Coolraine on the Ennis Road for development as a sporting grounds. Two years later the new grounds officially opened with two junior hurling games. The first big effort to raise funds for the development of the grounds was in 1932, with the establishment of a development committee, whose remit was to level the pitch, providing sideline seating and erect a boundary wall. Moyle Rovers GAA are a Gaelic Athletic Association club in County Tipperary, Ireland. History The club derives its name from the river Moyle that runs through the Parish and joins the Anner. The club was founded in 1928. Previous to this since the 1800s various teams represented the parish in local leagues most often the Clonmel League.
