Don McKillop
Donald Harley McKillop (15 February 1928 – 19 December 2005) was an English actor who trained at RADA. Notable roles include Bert the Landlord in the '' Doctor Who'' fifth and final serial of the eighth season, ''The Dæmons'' in 1971, Jack in ''The Likely Lads'', Bill in '' Rosie'' and as Sgt. McKechnie in the first series of the Scottish TV production '' Sutherland's Law'', opposite Maev Alexander. He appeared in five episodes of ''Dr. Finlay's Casebook'' between 1964 and 1970. He also appeared in notable films such as ''The Breaking of Bumbo'' (1970), '' An American Werewolf in London'' (1981) and '' Walter'' (1982). During the 1970s, between acting work, McKillop worked as a metalwork teacher at the Roger Manwood School in South-East London. Carlisle
Carlisle ( , ; from xcb, Caer Luel) is a city that lies within the Northern England, Northern English county of Cumbria, south of the Anglo-Scottish border, Scottish border at the confluence of the rivers River Eden, Cumbria, Eden, River Caldew, Caldew and River Petteril, Petteril. ''Walter'' is a British television drama directed by Stephen Frears and starring Ian McKellen, Barbara Jefford, Tony Melody, David Ryall, Keith Allen, Paula Tilbrook, and Jim Broadbent. It was first broadcast on the launch night of Channel 4 on 2 November 1982. Based on a 1978 novel of the same name by David Cook, it was the first ever Film on Four. Plot The film was directed by Stephen Frears and stars Ian McKellen as Walter, a man with a learning difficulties. The story focuses initially on his youth in which his parents attempt, with little success, to have him adapt into the conditions of a "normal" life. Walter's father dies, followed soon after by his mother. The social services bureaucracy then place him in a psychiatric institution. Walter is molested by another patient, witnesses the murder of a patient by another patient having a breakdown and remains in the institution for the rest of the film. AusStage: The Australian Live Performance Database is an online database which records information about live performances in Australia, providing records of productions from the first recorded performance in Australia (1789, by convicts) up until the present day. The only repository of Australian performing arts in the world, it is managed by a consortium of universities, government agencies, industry organisations and arts institutions, and mostly funded by the Australian Research Council. Cumberland
Cumberland ( ) is a historic county in the far North West England. It covers part of the Lake District as well as the north Pennines and Solway Firth coast. Cumberland had an administrative function from the 12th century until 1974. From 1974 until 2023, Cumberland lay within Cumbria, a larger administrative area which also covered Westmorland and parts of Yorkshire and Lancashire.
