Dominik Kružliak
Dominik Kružliak (born 10 July 1996) is a Slovak professional footballer who plays as a centre-back for FC Košice. Club career Ružomberok Kružliak made his Fortuna Liga debut for Ružomberok against ViOn Zlaté Moravce on 29 March 2014, entering in as a substitute in place of injured Lukáš Greššák in the 59th minute of the match. ViOn however went on to defeat Ružomberok 1–0. Volos On 19 June 2023, he signed a contract with Volos on a free transfer. On 5 September 2023, on the aftermath of Volos' 3–2 loss to AEK Athens, the club terminated his contract as he was thought responsible for the loss after conceding a penalty in stoppage time, converted by Nordin Amrabat. Liptovský Mikuláš
Liptovský Mikuláš (; until 1952 ''Liptovský Svätý Mikuláš'', german: Liptau-Sankt-Nikolaus; hu, Liptószentmiklós) is a town in northern Slovakia, on the Váh River, about from Bratislava. Nordin Amrabat
Noureddine "Nordin" Amrabat ( ar, نورالدين أمرابط, ber, ⵏⵓⵓⵔⴷⴷⵉⵏ ⴰⵎⵔⴰⴱⴰⵜ; born 31 March 1987) is a professional footballer who plays as a winger for Greek Super League club AEK Athens. Amrabat played for Dutch national youth teams and once was called up for the senior national side. On 1 October 2009, Amrabat announced his decision to play for Morocco, which he represented at two Africa Cup of Nations tournaments and the 2012 Olympics. Slovan Bratislava were the defending champions and successfully defended their title, winning their record-extending 10th Slovak title. Effects of the COVID-19 pandemic Since March, the season was affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. On 7 March, the 22nd and last round of the regular stage took place. Both the championship group and the relegation group were subsequently supposed to have 10 rounds starting on 14 March. However, the season was interrupted until the end of May. On 22 May, the league committee approved the restart of the competition with a new 5-round model starting on 13 June. The 2017–18 Slovak First Football League (known as the Slovak Fortuna Liga for sponsorship reasons) was the 25th season of first-tier football league in Slovakia, since its establishment in 1993. MŠK Žilina were the defending champions, after winning their 7th Slovak championship. Format changes Starting from this season, the competition format was changed. The previous 33-match round robin structure was replaced by a regular stage round of 22 games and a playoff round, where 12 teams are divided into two groups: championship group (top-6 teams after regular stage) and relegation group (bottom 6 teams). The playoff round uses a 10-game round robin structure. The top team in the championship group wins the league title and qualifies to next season's Champions League qualification; the runner-up and 3rd team obtain spots of next season's Europa League Qualification.
