2018–19 Slovak First Football League
The 2018–19 Slovak First Football League (known as the Fortuna Liga for sponsorship reasons) was the 26th season of first-tier football league in Slovakia since its establishment in 1993. Spartak Trnava were the defending champions after winning their first Slovak title in the previous season. Slovan Bratislava won their first title since 2014 and their record-extending ninth Slovak league title overall. Teams 12 teams competed in the league – the top 11 sides from the 2017–18 season and one promoted team from the 2. liga. The promoted team was Sereď. Slovak First Football League
The Slovak Super Liga is the top level football league in Slovakia, currently known as the Fortuna Liga due to a sponsorship arrangement. It was formed in 1993 following the dissolution of Czechoslovakia. The record for most titles is eleven, held by Slovan Bratislava, who are the current title holders. The first Slovak championship Zväzové Majstrovstvá Slovenska was played between Slovak teams (1925–1933); until 1935-36, no Slovak team played in the Czechoslovak (professional, state) league. ŠKF Sereď
ŠKF Sereď () is a Slovak football team, based in the town of Sereď, that plays in the Slovak Super Liga. It was founded as Sereďský športový klub in 1914. The club won the Slovak 2. Liga in 2017–18, thereby gaining promotion to Slovakia's first division. Podbrezová (; hu, Zólyombrézó) is a large village and municipality in Brezno District, in the Banská Bystrica Region of central Slovakia, around 10 km west of the district seat town, Brezno. MOL Aréna
MOL Aréna is a football stadium in Dunajská Streda, Slovakia. It is the home ground of a local club FC DAC 1904 Dunajská Streda and has an all-seated capacity of 12,700 people. The intensity of the floodlighting is 1,800 lux. History The stadium was opened in 1953. The main stand was built in the first half of the 1980s and was inaugurated for the 1985 Spartakiad. The capacity was 16,410 spectators. The stadium underwent reconstruction in 2008, when DAC 1904 Dunajská Streda started to play in Corgoň Liga. Dunajská Streda (; hu, Dunaszerdahely; german: Niedermarkt; he, דונהסרדהיי) is a town located in southern Slovakia ( Trnavský kraj). Dunajská Streda is the most culturally significant town in the Žitný ostrov area. The town has a population of 22,730, with ethnic Hungarians forming the 72% majority. Name The name of ''Syridahel'' was first mentioned in 1256. Other early written forms of the name were ''Zeredahely'' (1270) and ''Zredahel'' (1358). FK Senica () is a Slovak football team, based in the town of Senica. The club was founded in 1921. History FK Senica was founded in 1921. Newly created partition was rapidly progressed, but the boom dampened dark period World War II. World war almost destroyed football in Senica. FC ViOn Zlaté Moravce – Vráble is a Slovak football team, based in the town of Zlaté Moravce. The club was founded on 22 January 1995. History From the club's establishment in 1995 until 2004, they played in various regional competitions. In 2004 they were promoted to the Slovak Second Division, and then in the 2006–07 season were promoted to the Corgoň Liga, and won the Slovak Cup, beating FC Senec 4–0.
