AS Trenčín
AS Trenčín () is a Slovakia, Slovak sports club in the town of Trenčín, most known for its association football, football department. The first team currently plays in the Slovak Super Liga, Fortuna Liga after winning the 2010–11 Slovak First League. The club plays its home games at the Štadión na Sihoti with a capacity of 10,000 spectators. History The football team was established in 1990 as ''TJ Ozeta Dukla Trenčín'' and started in the third division of the Czechoslovak competition, finishing one place below TTS Trenčín. Štadión Sihoť
Štadión na Sihoti is a multi-use stadium in Trenčín, Slovakia. It is currently used mostly for football (soccer), football matches and is the home ground of AS Trenčín. The stadium holds 10,000 people. The ground was built in 1960 and since then has undergone several renovations. History The stadium was built in the 1960s and used for football matches of AS Trenčín sport club. The original capacity was over 22,000, mostly for standing spectators. Due to disrepair, the capacity was decreased to 16,000 then to 4,500 in 2008. Renovations began in 2014 to increase the capacity to 10,000. New arena Between 2017 and 2021, the current stadium will be replaced by new modern all-sitting arena with a capacity of around 11,500 spectators. In 2015, the old stands (except the main stand) were demolished. In June 2017, the construction of new stadium should begin. Martin Fabuš
Martin Fabuš (born 11 November 1976, in Trenčín) is a Slovak footballer who plays as a striker for Slovakian 3. tier liga club MŠK Slovan Trenčianske Teplice. He had also played for Slovan Bratislava, Karlsruher SC, ASK Schwadorf and Ruch Chorzów. He played in the Czech Gambrinus liga for Sigma Olomouc. He spent most of his career playing for Trenčín, he reached his playing peak while playing under Stanislav Griga. Pavol Bencz
Pavol Bencz (25 June 1936 – 18 April 2012) was a football player. He played for the Czechoslovakia national team and was the top scorer of the 1964–65 Czechoslovak First League, with 21 goals. As well as playing for his national team, he also scored twice in four appearances for Czechoslovakia B. Jeřábek, p. 17. He scored a total of 82 league goals in 182 matches, playing his club football for Jednota Trenčín and ZVL Žilina. AS Trenčín were the defending champions, after winning their 1st Slovak championship. Relegation for MFK Košice and FK Dukla Banská Bystrica to the 2015–16 DOXXbet liga was confirmed on 30 May 2015.
