It was formed on 7 August 2014 by the merger of Dixons Retail and Carphone Warehouse Group. It is listed on the London Stock Exchange, and is a constituent of the FTSE 250 Index. The company operates under a number of brands in the United Kingdom, Ireland and mainland Europe.
