Discover Tasmania
''Discover Tasmania'' is an Australian lifestyle television series that airs on the Seven Network. Originally broadcast from October to December 2007 in Tasmania only, it won all but one of its timeslots, with each episode receiving around 75,000 Tasmanian viewers. After its success there, and a push from the Tasmanian government, the show has since been shown across mainland Australia. In NSW, season one episodes averaged 218,000 viewers. The first season was hosted by 'Fast Ed' ('' Better Homes and Gardens'') and Tim Campbell (''Home and Away''). The program was renewed for a second season which began airing nationally on 20 March 2010 on Saturday afternoons. Ed Halmagyi
Ed Halmagyi (born February 1975), also known as "Fast Ed," is an Australian TV presenter, chef, author, photographer and radio host. Early life Ed Halmagyi was born in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia in February 1975 to neurologist Dr Gabor Michael Halmagyi AO and bush regenerator Sue Halmagyi OAM who were both immigrants from Hungary. He has an older sister Catherine and a younger brother Nicholas. At 15 Halmagyi began his culinary career as a kitchenhand, then soon afterwards as an assistant chef. Throughout his school years at Trinity Grammar School, Halmagyi worked in a variety of Sydney restaurants, then undertook a Bachelor of Arts/Law at Sydney University. He continued to work as a chef alongside his studies. In 1995 he travelled to the Solomon Islands to participate in a program of community development and aid work. Tim Campbell (born 27 September 1975) is an Australian television and stage actor and singer, best known for playing the character of Dan Baker (Home and Away), Dan Baker in the soap opera ''Home and Away'' between 2004 and 2008. ''Home and Away'' (often abbreviated as ''H&A'') is an Australian television soap opera. It was created by Alan Bateman and commenced broadcast on the Seven Network on 17 January 1988. Bateman came up with the concept of the show during a trip to Kangaroo Point, New South Wales, where he noticed locals were complaining about the construction of a foster home and against the idea of foster children from the city living in the area. The soap opera was initially going to be called ''Refuge'', but the name was changed to the "friendlier" title of ''Home and Away'' once production began. ''All Saints'' is an Australian medical drama television series that first screened on the Seven Network on 24 February 1998. Set in the fictional All Saints Western General Hospital, it focused on the staff of Ward 17 until its closure in 2004, which is when the focus changed and began following the staff of the Emergency Department.
