Dionysus (song)
"Dionysus" is a song by South Korean boy band BTS. It was released digitally on April 12, 2019, as part of the extended play '' Map of the Soul: Persona''. Background and release Big Hit Entertainment teased the song title when they posted a short description of Dionysus on their official website. Upon doing so it trended on Twitter worldwide. The song was announced to be on their album tracklist '' Map of the Soul: Persona'' a few days before the scheduled release of April 12, 2019. The track was also hinted at when teaser pictures of the members holding grapes were released. Promotion BTS promoted the song in Korea on the shows '' Inkigayo'', '' Show! Music Core'', ''Music Bank'', and '' M Countdown''. BTS gave a high-octane performance of the song at the 2019 Melon Music Awards and 2019 Mnet Asian Music Awards, where the group swept all grand prizes. A persona (plural personae or personas), depending on the context, is the public image of one's personality, or the social role that one adopts, or a fictional character. The word derives from Latin, where it originally referred to a theatrical mask. On the social web, users develop virtual personas as online identities. Trap Music
Trap is a subgenre of hip hop music that originated in the Southern United States during the 1990s. The genre gets its name from the Atlanta slang word "trap", a house used exclusively to sell drugs. Trap music uses synthesized drums and is characterized by complex hi-hat patterns, tuned kick drums with a long decay (originally from the Roland TR-808 drum machine), and lyrical content that often focuses on drug use and urban violence. It utilizes very few instruments and focuses almost exclusively on snare drums and double- or triple-timed hi-hats. Synth-pop
Synth-pop (short for synthesizer pop; also called techno-pop; ) is a subgenre of new wave music that first became prominent in the late 1970s and features the synthesizer as the dominant musical instrument. Rap rock is a fusion genre that fuses vocal and instrumental elements of hip hop with various forms of rock. KBS Song Festival
The ''KBS Song Festival'' () is an annual South Korean music show that airs on the Korean Broadcasting System (KBS) at the end of every year. It first aired in 1965 as an awards show, but KBS discontinued the awards ceremony in 2006. It has continued since as a music festival without giving awards most years. However, awards were given in 2013. History The program was first broadcast in 1965 by the Tongyang Broadcasting Company (TBC), where it was known as the ''TBC Broadcast Music Awards'' (). Singer Choi Hee-Joon won the first award in 1965.
