A sports club or sporting club, sometimes an athletics club or sports society or sports association, is a group of people formed for the purpose of playing sports. Sports clubs range from organisations whose members play together, unpaid, and may play other similar clubs on occasion, watched mostly by family and friends, to large commercial organisations with professional players which have teams that regularly compete against those of other clubs and attract sometimes very large crowds of paying spectators. HC Dinamo Yerevan is an ice hockey team in Yerevan, Armenia. They play in the Armenian Hockey League, the top level of ice hockey in Armenia. History The club was founded in 2000, and finished third in 2000-01 season. After the 2001-02 season was cancelled, Dinamo won three straight titles, in 2003, 2004, and 2005. Since Urartu Yerevan joined the league for the 2005-06 season, Dinamo has not won another title, and their best result was second place in the 2007-08 and 2008-09 seasons. A multi-sport event is an organized sporting event, often held over multiple days, featuring competition in many different sports among organized teams of athletes from (mostly) nation-states. Typical club activities include arranging practice ice time, hosting test sessions and competitions, and producing an annual ice show in which club skaters may take part. Some clubs also emphasize non-skating social activities. Practice ice Many ice rinks, particularly those that are municipally owned, do not sell practice ice directly to figure skaters.
