Dickinsfield is a residential area in northeast Edmonton, Alberta, Canada that consists of the neighbourhoods of Evansdale and Northmount. The area, the Dickinsfield Junior High School, and the Dickinsfield Extended Care Centre are all named after aviator Clennell Haggerston "Punch" Dickins. Dickins was the first pilot inducted into the Canada's Aviation Hall of Fame. Geography Located in northeast Edmonton, the Dickinsfield area is bounded by 97 Street ( Highway 28) to the west, 137 Avenue to the south, 82 Street to the east, and 153 Avenue to the north. The area is bisected by 144 Avenue. Evansdale comprises the part of the area north of 144 Avenue, while Northmount comprises the balance to the south of 144 Avenue. Rosslyn is a residential neighbourhood in north west Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. The neighbourhood has good access to shopping services at Northgate Centre and North Town Mall. The neighbourhood is bounded on the north by 137 Avenue, on the east by 97 Street, on the south by 132 Avenue and on the west by 113 A Street. Castle Downs, Edmonton
Castle Downs is a residential area in the northwest portion of the City of Edmonton in Alberta, Canada. The area was originally to be called Athabasca Downs, but when the city rejected the name, the developer used their second choice: Castle Downs. The names of the communities were based on European castles, and Castle Downs became the first area in Edmonton to be named in a thematic way. According to former Names Committee secretary Nancy Diettrich “The castles were chosen to recognize the different ethnic groups in the area.” It was originally established in 1971 through Edmonton City Council's adoption of the Castle Downs Outline Plan, and then extended northward in 1983 through the adoption of the Caste Downs Extension Area Structure Plan. Northmount is a neighbourhood in northwest Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. It and the Evansdale neighbourhood to the north comprise Edmonton's Dickinsfield community. Northgate Centre
Northgate Centre is a shopping mall located in the northern part of Edmonton, Alberta. It contains more than 70 stores and services. Its main anchor tenants are Marshalls, Safeway, and Walmart. History The mall first opened in April 1965 as Northgate Shopping Centre and was home to the Woodward's department store. A major renovation was completed in 1986, adding a second storey and twin two level parkades on the northwest and southwest corners, and the mall was renamed Northwood Mall. In 1998, First Capital Realty took ownership of the mall and a year later began a three-year redevelopment that was completed in 2002.
