Dewan Shafiul Arefin Tutul
Dewan Shafiul Arefin Tutul is a former national footballer of Bangladesh and the former Youth and Sports Affairs Secretary of Bangladesh Awami League. Playing career Tutul began his career as a striker in the Dhaka Second Division Football League with Dhanmondi Club in 1974. He was later invited to join the junior team of Abahani Krira Chakra by Ali Imam. He soon shifted to defence under the team guided by Monwar Hossain Nannu and eventually became a right full who frequently made overlaps. Thus, he is regarded as the first attacking full back in Dhaka football. He represented the Bangladesh U19 team at the 1977 AFC Youth Championship in Tehran. Tutul previously made his senior international debut during the 1976 King's Cup in Bangkok. He became the vice-captain of Abahani in 1979 and the captain in 1980; however, he departed the club the following year after a fallout with the officials. Shamsul Islam Khan
Shamsul Islam Khan (known as Naya Miah; died on 21 January 2006) was a Bangladesh Nationalist Party politician and a former Jatiya Sangsad member representing the Manikganj-4 constituency and a former minister of industries at the first Khaleda Zia cabinet. Career Khan served as the president of Abahani Limited Dhaka from 1978 to 1982. He was elected to Parliament in 1991 from Manikganj-4 as a candidate of Bangladesh Nationalist Party. From 1991 to 1996 he served as the Minister of Industries in the First Khaleda Zia Cabinet. He was elected in 2001 to parliament from Manikganj-4. He was elected four times from Manikganj-4 constituency. Sait Nagjee Football Tournament
The Sait Nagjee All India Football Tournament is one of the most prestigious football Tournaments held in Kozhikode, Kerala, India. The tournament was very popular from the beginning & attracted large crowd since 1952. The tournament played until 1995 regularly though with stoppages a couple of times. In 1995, the tournament was won by JCT Mills. Since 1995, there was a gap of 21 years during which the tournament was not held. Federation Cup, also known as Bangladesh Federation Cup, is Bangladesh's premier cup competition in men's association football. The competition started in 1980 and is run by the Bangladesh Football Federation which is responsible for all types of competitive matches in the country. The teams from the country's premier league and other clubs compete in the tournament while occasionally Indian sides were invited in the past. Mohammedan Sporting Club Limited Dhaka, founded in 1936 at Dhaka, is one of the oldest and one of the most popular football clubs in Bangladesh, with a support base in all parts of the country. Dhaka Senior Division Football League, also referred as First Division Football League, is the third tier of football league in Bangladesh. Until 2006, it was the top-tier league of the country.
