Derivae
''Derivae'' is the second studio album from the Italian post-metal band Nero di Marte. The album was released on October 28, 2014 through Prosthetic Records, and recorded at Studio 72 in Ravenna, Italy from May–June 2014. Musical style and writing In an interview, Sean Worrell said that "We try to interpret the mood and the atmosphere of what we are playing, as if the sounds were speaking to us and we need to translate that into written language." A number of music critics have compared the album's style to Ulcerate, Gorguts, Meshuggah, and Gojira for the heavy atmosphere, dissonant and technical guitarwork, and dynamic song structures which make significant use of soft, heavy, slow, and fast sections. Nero Di Marte
Nero di Marte is an experimental metal band based in Bologna, Italy. Formerly known under the name "Murder Therapy" since 2007, the band released their debut album ''Symmetry of Delirium'' in 2009 and the EP ''Molochian'' in 2011. After some line-up changes, recording sessions for a new album took place throughout the summer of 2011, which was then mixed and mastered at Studio73 in Ravenna. During the course of 2012, the band changed their name to Nero di Marte, the name the album was originally given and subsequently signed to Prosthetic Records, who released the album worldwide in mid-March 2013. Ravenna
Ravenna ( , , also ; rgn, Ravèna) is the capital city of the Province of Ravenna, in the Emilia-Romagna region of Northern Italy. Technical Death Metal
Technical death metal (also referred to as tech-death) is a musical subgenre of death metal that began and developed in the early- to mid-1990s, with particular focus on challenging, demanding instrumental skill and complex songwriting. Technical experimentation in death metal began in the late 1980s and early 1990s by four bands that are often grouped together as "technical death metal's Big Four" – Death, Pestilence, Atheist, and Cynic – as well as Nocturnus; all but Pestilence being part of the Florida death metal scene.
