Deoghar (pronounced ''Devaghar'') is a major city in Jharkhand, India. It is a holy sacred place of Hinduism. It is one of the 12 ''Jyotirlinga''s sites of Hinduism (Baidyanath Temple). The sacred temples of the city make this a place for pilgrimage and tourists. The city is administrative headquarter of Deoghar District at Santhal Parganas division of Jharkhand. Deoghar district (pronounced, ''Devo ka ghar'') is one of the twenty-four districts of Jharkhand state in eastern India. Deoghar, the central city of the district, is also its administrative headquarters. This district is known for the Baidyanath Jyotirlinga shrine and is a part of the Santhal Pargana division. Deoghar Airport
Deoghar Airport is a domestic airport serving Deoghar in the state of Jharkhand, India. It is situated approximately 12 kilometres (7.4 mi) from the city centre. The airport has been primarily developed to serve the region of North-Eastern part of Jharkhand and some districts of West Bengal and Bihar. Baidyanath Temple
Vaidyanatha Jyotirlinga temple, also known as ''Baba Baidyanath dham'' and ''Baidyanath dham'' is one of the twelve Jyotirlingas, the most sacred abodes of Shiva. It is located in Deoghar in the Santhal Parganas division of the state of Jharkhand, India. It is a temple complex consisting of the main temple of Baba Baidyanath, where the Jyotirlinga is installed, and 21 other temples. According to Hindu beliefs, the demon king Ravana worshipped Shiva at the current site of the temple to get the boons that he later used to wreak havoc in the world. Ravana offered his ten heads one after another to Shiva as a sacrifice. Pleased with this, Shiva descended to cure Ravana who was injured. Ramakrishna Mission Vidyapith, Deoghar is a residential boys' senior secondary school in Deoghar, Jharkhand, India, established in 1922. Trikut Hill
Trikut Pahar (Trikut Hill) is a Hindu pilgrimage situated around 15 km away from the town of Deoghar, on the way to Dumka at Trikut Basdiha in Mohanpur Block of Deoghar District in Jharkhand state, India. There are three main peaks on the hill (the "tri-" of Trikutachal). The height of this hill is 2470 feet. A rope way is a tourist attraction and can be used to reach the top of the hill. Other than the ropeway, tourists can also use the stairs to reach the top. The hill is covered with clouds in rainy seasons and waterfalls and small streams are visible from July–September. Santhal Pargana division constitutes one of the five district administration units known as the divisions of Jharkhand state in eastern India.
