''Den'' is an album by electronica group Kreidler, released in 2012. Cover artwork The cover artwork is by Italian artist Enrico David. Analogously to the preceding Kreidler album ''Tank'', there is an art piece on the front cover, and another one on the inner sleeve (vinyl version); the CD is packed in a jewel case with the artwork on two changeable cardboards. Track listing Music videos The album is accompanied by a collaboration between film director Heinz Emigholz and Kreidler, with Emigholz contributing clips to all the songs on ''Den''. The videos contain alternate song versions, most remarkable "Rote Wüste", where the video, at 21:12, runs nearly three times longer than the album version. The readers of German magazine '' Spex'' voted "Rote Wüste" as favorite video No. 7 in the top ten for 2012. Kreidler (band)
Kreidler is a German band from Düsseldorf, which was founded in 1994. The band combines electronic and analog instruments, and is categorized by critics, depending on the publication, as electronic music, pop, avant-garde, post rock, IDM, ambient, neoclassical, krautrock, or electronica. Kreidler was the inscription on a T-shirt worn by Andreas Reihse on the day when the band ''Deux Baleines Blanches'' sought a new name. It was subsequently interpreted as a kind of anagram for Klein, Reihse, Schneider, Weinrich. Heinz Emigholz
Heinz Emigholz (born 22 January 1948 in Achim, near Bremen, Germany) is a filmmaker, actor, artist, writer and producer. He lives and works in Berlin and Malta. Emigholz has produced a comprehensive filmic and artistic oeuvre and has also done performance art and acted in other directors’ films (Cynthia Beatt, Silke Grossmann, Stefan Hayn, Birgit and Wilhelm Hein, Ken Jacobs, Sheila McLaughlin, Sandra Nettelbeck, Elfi Mikesch, Lior Shamriz, Joseph Vilsmaier, Klaus Wyborny a.o.). Metacritic is a website that review aggregator, aggregates reviews of films, TV shows, music albums, video games and formerly, books. For each product, the scores from each review are averaged (a weighted arithmetic mean, weighted average). Metacritic was created by Jason Dietz, Marc Doyle, and Julie Doyle Roberts in 1999. The site provides an excerpt from each review and hyperlinks to its source. A color of green, yellow or red summarizes the critics' recommendations. It is regarded as the foremost online review aggregation site for the video game industry. Metacritic's scoring converts each review into a percentage, either mathematically from the mark given, or what the site decides subjectively from a qualitative review. Pole is the artistic name of Stefan Betke (born 18 February 1967), a German electronic music artist commonly associated with the glitch genre as well as dubtronica.Cooper, SeanPole Biography, Allmusic. Retrieved 15 November 2013 History Born in Düsseldorf, Pole took his name from a Waldorf 4-Pole filter, which he accidentally dropped and broke in 1996. Though the filter was perhaps no longer appropriate for DJ work in its damaged state, Betke found the strange hissing and popping noises the filter now made interesting sounds. He then began using the broken filter to create music, launching his musical career. Guy Sternberg
Guy Sternberg (born 1947) is the owner and operator of Starhill Forest Arboretum in Petersburg, Illinois. He is an arborist, author of books on oaks and is a founding member of the International Oak Society, tree consultant, and lecturer. The International Short Film Festival Oberhausen, founded in 1954, is one of the oldest short film festivals in the world. ''Spex'' was a German rock and pop culture magazine located in Berlin, Germany. Besides music news, ''Spex'' also covered literature, cinema, fashion and contemporary social trends. Since January 2008, ''Spex'' was headquartered in Berlin and included an audio CD. History The foundation The paper's first issue was published in Cologne in 1980 by a small group of writers who decided to found their own music paper: they were Gerald Hündgen, Clara Drechsler, Dirk Scheuring, Wilfried Rütten and Peter Bömmels. They first considered naming it ''555'' but finally pitched on ''Spex'' – which means "glasses" in English slang. The name ''Spex'' reminds of the then very famous punk band X-Ray Spex. Enrico David
Enrico David (born 1966, Ancona, Italy) is an artist based in London. He works in painting, drawing, sculpture and installation, at times employing traditional craft techniques. In the 1990s he garnered acclaim for creating monumental embroidered portraits using sewn canvases, which often began as drawings and collages from fashion magazines. During the past several years David focused on sculpture in a variety of media and returned to more traditional methods of painting. His recent works include large-scale portraits of deeply psychological meaning. Drawing continues to be an important element of his practice. David studied at Central St. Martins in London and has since exhibited his work in galleries and museums worldwide. David was shortlisted for the Turner Prize in 2009.
