Delmont T. Moffitt (December 21, 1911 – June 30, 2001) was an American politician from the state of Iowa. Moffitt was born in Woodstock, Pipestone County, Minnesota in 1911. He served as a Republican in the Iowa House of Representatives from 1961 to 1965, 1967 to 1969, and 1971 to 1973. Pipestone County is a county in the U.S. state of Minnesota. As of the 2020 census, the population was 9,424. Its county seat is Pipestone. History The county was formed on May 23, 1857, by act of the territorial legislature, but was not organized at that time. The area was first designated ''Rock County'' while the name ''Pipestone County'' was attached to neighboring Rock County. An act of the Minnesota state legislature on February 20, 1862, swapped the designations, attaching the present names to the present counties, due to the pipestone quarry in this county. Kenneth Ervin Owen (September 1, 1918 – January 23, 2001) was an American politician from the state of Iowa. Early life On September 1, 1918, Owen was born in Jerome, Iowa, U.S. Owen's parents were Samuel and Vera (née Sedgwick) Owen. Owen attended Centerville High School in Centerville. Career Owen was a farmer in Jerome, Iowa. Owen served as a Democrat in the 4th district of the Iowa House of Representatives for three terms from 1955 to 1961, and for one term as the Secretary of Agriculture of Iowa from 1965 to 1967. Owen also served on the Appanoose County Farm Bureau Board and on the Jerome School Board. Personal life In 1937, Owen married Frances Hamm.
