Deepak Raj Joshee ( ne, दिपकराज जोशी) was a Justice of the Supreme Court of Nepal. He was appointed as Acting Chief Justice of Supreme Court of Nepal on 19 March 2018. He had been recommended as the Chief Justice of Supreme Court of Nepal on 12 June 2018. He was rejected for Chief Justice of Supreme Court by the Parliamentary Hearing Special Committee on 3 August 2018. The Supreme Court of Nepal ( ne, सर्वोच्च अदालत) is the highest court in Nepal. It has appellate jurisdiction over decisions of the seven High Courts (including eleven Benches of the High Courts) and extraordinary original jurisdiction. Gopal Parajuli (born 28 April 1953) was the former and 27th chief Justice of Nepal. He was born in Tanahun, Nepal. Inconsistencies in his birth date due to multiple records showing multiple dates led to his removal on 14 March 2018 by the Judicial Council citing he should have retired on 5 August 2017. Sushila Karki
Sushila Karki () (born 7 June 1952 in Biratnagar) is a Nepalese jurist. She is the former Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Nepal and the only woman to have held the post. Karki became Chief Justice on 11 July 2016. The Constitutional Council headed by the Prime Minister KP Oli recommended her for the post. On 30 April 2017, an impeachment motion was submitted in the Parliament against Karki, by Maoist Centre and Nepali Congress. However, the impeachment motion was later withdrawn after public pressure and an interim order by the Supreme Court ordering the Parliament not to proceed with the motion.
