David Taylor (English Cricketer)
David Kenneth Taylor (born 17 December 1974) is an English cricketer. He was born in Oxford. Taylor played for Hampshire's Second XI in 1993 at the age of 18, and the following year captained a National Association of Young Cricketers side against Minor Counties. He had a further outing for Gloucestershire seconds in 1995, but then dropped out of view for a while. In 1998 he played for Oxfordshire in the MCC Trophy, and three years later still he at last made his List A debut for the same county, against Huntingdonshire in the C&G Trophy at Vicarage Hill in East Challow (the only List A game ever played on that ground). It was not a happy occasion for Taylor: he made only 1 and Oxfordshire lost by 77 runs. Twenty20 Cup
The T20 Blast, currently named the Vitality Blast for sponsorship reasons, is a professional Twenty20 cricket competition for English and Welsh first-class counties. The competition was established by the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) in 2003 as the first professional Twenty20 league in the world. It is the top-level Twenty20 competition in England and Wales. The competition has been known by a variety of names due to commercial sponsorship. The 2003 English cricket season was the 104th in which the County Championship had been an official competition. It was notable for the first official County Championship of the oldest county club, Sussex, and the first Twenty20 championship, the Twenty20 Cup. Shropshire County Cricket Club is one of twenty minor county clubs within the domestic cricket structure of England and Wales. It represents the historic county of Shropshire. The team is a member of the Minor Counties Championship Western Division and plays in the MCCA Knockout Trophy. Dinton Cricket Club Ground
Oxford Road Cricket Ground is the home of Dinton CC and a cricket ground in Dinton, Buckinghamshire. Although the site has existed as Dinton CC'S ground since the 19th century, the first recorded county fixture here was in 2001, when Buckinghamshire played the Worcestershire Cricket Board in a List-A match in the 1st round of the 2002 Cheltenham & Gloucester Trophy. The 2002 English cricket season was the 103rd in which the County Championship had been an official competition. Surrey were crowned champions but 2001 county champions Yorkshire were relegated. The Result In Cricket
The result in a game of cricket may be a "win" for one of the two teams playing, or a "tie". In the case of a limited overs game, the game can also end with "no result" if the game can't be finished on time (usually due to weather or bad light), and in other forms of cricket, a "draw" may be possible. Which of these results applies, and how the result is expressed, is governed by Law 16 of the laws of cricket. East Challow
East Challow is a village and Civil parishes in England, civil parish about west of Wantage in the Vale of White Horse, England. Historically it was part of the ecclesiastical parish of Letcombe Regis, but since 1852 East and West Challow have formed their own single ecclesiastical parish. Vicarage Hill
Vicarage Hill is a cricket ground located in East Challow, Oxfordshire. Situated on the site of a park which has been in existence since the 1890s, the ground is surrounded to the west by the road from which it gets its name, to the south by the Ickleton Road and to the north and east by farmland. Oxfordshire County Cricket Club, Oxfordshire first used the ground in the 1993 Minor Counties Championship against Wiltshire County Cricket Club, Wiltshire, playing a single Minor Counties Championship match in their season, with the exception of 1997, when two matches were played there. C&G Trophy
The Friends Provident Trophy was a one-day cricket competition in the United Kingdom. It was one of the four tournaments in which the eighteen first-class counties competed each season. They were joined by teams from Scotland and Ireland. Lancashire won the title a record seven times. The competition has previously been known as the C&G Trophy (2000–2006), the NatWest Trophy (1981–2000) and the Gillette Cup (1963–1980). For a short period following the 2006 season, the competition was known as the ECB One-Day Trophy because no sponsors were forthcoming when Cheltenham and Gloucester decided to end their association with the competition after the 2006 season.
