Dave van Vuuren (born 1990, Westville, Durban, South Africa) is a South African singer-songwriter and guitarist. He first gained popularity through winning the seventh season of ''Idols South Africa'' after a close public vote in the finale held on 4 October 2011, with Van Vuuren getting 50.49% of the votes, against 49.51% for the other finalist and eventual runner-up Mark Haze. He was the first series winner who came back after landing in the bottom 3 in earlier performance. Before ''Idols'' David fronted a South African underground Metal-Core band called Freedom for Your Life. Karen Zoid (born Karen Louise Greeff on 10 August 1978) is a South African Rock music, rock singer, songwriter, guitarist, composer and talk show host. Fokofpolisiekar (, ''Fuckoffpolicecar'') is an Afrikaans alternative rock band from Bellville, near Cape Town, South Africa. Due to the obscenity in the name, they are also commonly known simply as Polisiekar or FPK. Band history The band was formed in April 2003, initially as a joke to shock the mostly conservative Afrikaner community with its name and also the notion of an Afrikaans alternative band. The Parlotones are a South African indie rock band from Johannesburg. Kobus! (or K.O.B.U.S!) is an Afrikaans extreme metal band formed in 2000 by ex-Springbok Nude Girls guitarist Theo Crous and ex-Voice of Destruction vocalist Francois Breytenbach Blom.
