Dausa is a city and administrative headquarters of Dausa district in the state of Rajasthan, India. It is 55 km from Jaipur, 240 km from Delhi and located on National Highway 21 (India), Jaipur-Agra National Highway (NH-21).Current population is around 1.25 lakh as per latest data available. Etymology As Dausa city is surrounded by Mahadev in five directions (Nilkanth, Gupteshwer, Sahajnath, Somnath and Baijnath), so it was named from Sanskrit word ''Dhau'' and ''Sa''. Dausa District
Dausa District is a district of Rajasthan state in India within Jaipur division. The city of Dausa is the district headquarters. It has an area of 3432 km² and a population of 1,634,409 in 2011 census. It is surrounded by Alwar District in the north, Bharatpur district in the northeast, Karauli district in the southeast, Sawai Madhopur district in the south, and Jaipur district in the west. Mehandipur Balaji Temple
Balaji Temple (Devanagari: बालाजी मन्दिर) in Mehandipur, Karauli district on the border of Karauli district and Dausa district, is a Hindu temple dedicated to the Hindu deity Hanuman. Abhaneri
Abhaneri, also spelled Abaneri, is a village in the Dausa district of the Indian state of Rajasthan. Abhaneri is popular for the Chand Baori step well and Harshat Mata Temple. History The village was originally named Abha Nagari, ("City of Brightness"), but over time the name evolved to its present form. Originally ruled by the Chahamanas of Shakambhari, the area was later conquered by Muslim invasions under Mahmud of Ghazni and later ruled by the Mughals. Bandikui
Bandikui (Bandi=Female servant, Kui=Water well) is a railway city and Municipal Corporationin Dausa district in the Indian state of Rajasthan. It comes under the panchayat samiti of Bandikui. Geography Bandikui sits at the junction of the Agra-Jaipur and the Delhi-Jaipur railway lines. The city is located 205 km south of Delhi. Tika Ram Paliwal (24 April 1909 – 8 February 1995) was an Indian politician, who served as the Chief Minister of Rajasthan from 3 March 1952 to 31 October 1952.
