Darktide
''Warhammer 40,000: Darktide'' is a first-person action video game set in the ''Warhammer 40,000'' universe, developed and published by Fatshark. It is a spiritual successor to '' Warhammer: Vermintide'' series. It was released for Microsoft Windows on 30 November 2022. The release for Xbox Series X/S will be revealed by Paul Naylor of the entertainment zone at a later date. Gameplay The game uses a similar formula to that used in Fatshark's '' Warhammer: Vermintide 2'' in which four players cooperate to defeat periodic waves of AI-controlled enemies. Rather than a set of pre-made characters, the game allows players to customize their class, appearance, and gender. The four classes consist of a Veteran, Zealot, Ogryn, and Psyker. All classes make use of a regenerating shield. Fatshark is a Swedish video game development studio based in Stockholm, Sweden. The studio is located in Stockholm. Fatshark acted as a subcontractor for several AAA titles for PC and consoles, and the studio also develops its own games. In January 2021, Tencent acquired majority control of the studio. History Fatshark originated from a company called Northplay, which subcontracted for various Swedish companies between 2003 and 2008. Matt Ward (game Designer)
Matt Ward is a British author and miniature wargaming designer, who is best known for his work with Games Workshop on the '' Warhammer Fantasy Battles'', '' Warhammer 40,000'' and ''The Lord of the Rings Strategy Battle Game ''Middle Earth Strategy Battle Game'', previously marketed as ''The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey Strategy Battle Game'', ''The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug Strategy Battle Game'', ''The Hobbit: The Battle of Five Armies Strategy Battle Game ...'' systems. Jesper Kyd Jakobson (; born 3 February 1972) is a Danish composer and sound designer who has worked on various video game, television, and film projects. He has composed soundtracks for the ''Hitman'' series, ''Assassin's Creed'' series, ''Borderlands'' series, ''Darksiders II'' and ''State of Decay'', among many others. His scores use orchestra, choir, acoustic manipulations and electronic soundscapes. Biography Early years Kyd started playing the piano at an early age. In Games Workshop's ''Warhammer Fantasy'' and ''Warhammer 40,000'' fictional universes, Chaos refers to parasitic entities which live in a different plane of reality known as '' the Warp'' or ''Immaterium'' in ''Warhammer 40,000'' and as the Realm of Chaos in ''Warhammer Age of Sigmar''.
