Daniel Weiss (figure Skater)
Daniel Weiss (born 18 July 1968) is a German former competitive figure skater who competed in men's singles. He is the 1989 Skate Canada International bronze medalist, the 1991 Nations Cup bronze medalist, and a two-time German national champion, winning the title in 1990 and 1991. European Figure Skating Championships
The European Figure Skating Championships is an annual figure skating competition in which figure skaters compete for the title of European champion. Medals are awarded in the disciplines of men's singles, women's singles, pair skating, and ice dance. The event is sanctioned by the International Skating Union (ISU) and is the sport's oldest competition. The first European Championships was held in 1891 in Hamburg, Germany and featured one segment, compulsory figures, with seven competitors, all men from Germany and Austria. The World Junior Figure Skating Championships (''"World Juniors"'' or ''"Junior Worlds"'') is an annual figure skating competition sanctioned by the International Skating Union in which figure skaters within a designated age range compete for the title of World Junior champion. The Skate Canada International is an international, senior-level invitation-only figure skating competition organized by Skate Canada. It is the second competition of the ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating season. The location changes yearly. Medals are awarded in four disciplines: men's singles, ladies' singles, pair skating, and ice dancing. The first Skate Canada International was held in 1973. The 1987 competition in Calgary was the test event for the 1988 Winter Olympic Games. It was added to the Grand Prix series in 1995, the year the series began. The 1989 European Figure Skating Championships was a senior-level international competition held in Birmingham, England, United Kingdom on January 17–22, 1989. Elite skaters from European ISU member nations competed in the disciplines of men's singles, ladies' singles, pair skating, and ice dancing. Results Men West Germany's Richard Zander won the compulsory figures but withdrew after the short program. Ladies Leistner, Conway, Gorbenko were the top three after the compulsory figures.
