Daniel Vávra
Daniel Vávra (born 2 September 1975) is a Czech video game writer, director, designer and co-founder of Warhorse Studios. He is best known as the lead writer of the video games ''Mafia'' (2002), ''Mafia II'' (2010) and '' Kingdom Come: Deliverance'' (2018). Vávra started his career in 1998 at Illusion Softworks, initially working as a graphic artist for '' Hidden & Dangerous'', he went on to become the lead writer of ''Mafia''. After several projects in the mid-2000s, the studio was purchased by 2K Games in 2008 and renamed 2K Czech. The studio was working on ''Mafia II'' prior to the acquirement. Vávra greatly struggled with the restructured studio under 2K Games, and left in early 2009, prior to the game's release. Following his departure, Vávra co-founded Warhorse Studios alongside Martin Klíma in 2011, which would eventually release '' Kingdom Come: Deliverance'' in 2018, a medieval role-playing game with Vávra as the lead writer. Rychnov nad Kněžnou (; german: Reichenau an der Knieschna) is a town in the Hradec Králové Region of the Czech Republic. It has about 11,000 inhabitants. The demoscene is an international computer art subculture focused on producing demos: self-contained, sometimes extremely small, computer programs that produce audiovisual presentations. The purpose of a demo is to show off programming, visual art, and musical skills. Demos and other demoscene productions (graphics, music, videos, games) are shared at festivals known as demoparties, voted on by those who attend and released online. The scene started with the home computer revolution of the early 1980s, and the subsequent advent of software cracking. Sexism in video gaming is prejudiced behavior or discrimination based on sex or gender as experienced by people who play and create video games, primarily women. This may manifest as sexual harassment or in the way genders are represented in games, such as when characters are presented according to gender-related tropes and stereotypes. Since the 1980's and 1990's, video game culture has veered from its original perception as a space for just young men. Women make up about 50 percent of all game players as of the 2010s. However, many video games condone instances of sexism against women through not penalizing users who demonstrate this kind of behavior, or weaving themes of sexism against women into their storylines. Bias is a disproportionate weight ''in favor of'' or ''against'' an idea or thing, usually in a way that is closed-minded, prejudicial, or unfair. Biases can be innate or learned. ''Wings of War'' is a World War I combat flight simulator developed by Czech studio Silver Wish Games and published by Gathering for Microsoft Windows and Xbox in 2004. The game was a standard wartime flight simulator with the underused setting of World War I. Players assume the role of a Royal Air Force pilot fighting the Luftstreitkräfte in several missions. Gameplay After players created a profile, the game offered numerous options and game play modes including Campaign and Instant Action. During the Campaign mode, players could not only pilot single fighter planes but could also jump into bombers and recon planes as well as inside the seat of tail-mounted machine guns during missions.
