Daniel Kreutzer
Daniel Kreutzer (born October 23, 1979) is a German retired professional ice hockey forward who spent most of his career with Düsseldorfer EG of the Deutsche Eishockey Liga (DEL). Career Having come through the youth ranks of Düsseldorfer EG, Kreutzer made his debut in the German top-flight Deutsche Eishockey Liga (DEL) in the 1996-97 season. 1996–97 DEL Season
The 1996–97 Deutsche Eishockey Liga season was the 3rd season of the Deutsche Eishockey Liga ( en, German Ice Hockey League). Adler Mannheim became the DEL Champion, winning a German title for the second time in their history. Both the Ratinger Löwen and Wedemark Scorpions earned their keep in the league playing against 1st League EHC Neuwied and TSV Erding. The Bosman ruling, a 1995 decision of the European Court of Justice regarding the movement of labor in soccer, had profound influence on the league. The old Bundesliga had national character: German clubs competing for the German title with mostly German players. After the ruling European Union players were excluded from the "foreign" player quota. Within a year, the DEL teams employed 97 EU players and lowered their costs significantly, enabling the smaller teams to compete more effectively. 2007–08 DEL Season
The 2007–08 Deutsche Eishockey Liga season was the 14th season since the founding of the Deutsche Eishockey Liga (DEL; en, German Ice Hockey League). Fifteen teams played after the Grizzly Adams Wolfsburg received the license and were admitted to play in the DEL. Each club played the other four times, resulting in 56 regular-season games per club. The top six clubs at the end of the regular season qualified for the first round of the play-offs. The clubs seven to ten played a preliminary round to determine the last two places for the first round. For the teams placed eleven to fifteen, the season ended. The German champion Eisbären Berlin defended its title in the final game on 17 April 2005. The Kassel Huskies left the league after losing in the playoff against the new DEL team the Füchse Duisburg. 2004–05 DEL Season
The 2004–05 Deutsche Eishockey Liga season was the 11th season since the founding of the Deutsche Eishockey Liga ( en, German Ice Hockey League). The Eisbären Berlin ( en, Polar Bears Berlin) became first time German Champion, a feat they will repeat a number of times in the next seasons. The Kassel Huskies was allowed to stay in the league, despite losing the play-down, as Grizzly Adams Wolfsburg lost its DEL license. The season was significant, due to the NHL lockout. 22 NHL players came to play the season in the DEL, with the Iserlohn Roosters making the first move by signing up Mike York. Several German national team players came as well -- Marco Sturm, Jochen Hecht and Olaf Kölzig. Other significant signings included Stéphane Robidas and Doug Weight midseason signups for the previous season champion the Frankfurt Lions. 2001–02 DEL Season
The 2001–02 Deutsche Eishockey Liga season was the 8th season since the founding of the Deutsche Eishockey Liga ( en, German Ice Hockey League). The league also introduced a new logo, that will stay in use until the 2011-2012 season. The Kölner Haie won the DEL Championship the second time in their history, making it the eighth time they held the German Champion title. Relegation was reintroduced for this season and after a playdown the Berlin Capitals were relegated to the 2nd Bundesliga. This would not be the only teams leaving the league, as the DEL withdrew the license for the Moskitos Essen and Revierlöwen Oberhausen. The 1999–2000 Deutsche Eishockey Liga season was the 6th season of the Deutsche Eishockey Liga ( en, German Ice Hockey League). An agreement was reached between DEL and the 1. Liga. With DEL being the top-level league, it would be known as the DEL - Die 1. Bundesliga, and the 1. Liga as the 2. Bundesliga. A new logo displaying the full name was introduced at the same time. The regular season was played from September 10, 1999, until March 12, 2000; the playoffs started soon thereafter on March 17. The München Barons, who bought their license from the EV Landshut, became DEL champions. A number of major changes were introduced this season. One change was the reintroduction of relegation.
