Dance Master UK
Dance Master UK is a dance competition held annually in the United Kingdom. Overview Dance Master UK was established in the late 1990s by the International Dance Teachers Association, as the male equivalent of their long running competition Miss Dance of Great Britain. Dance Master UK is a theatre dance competition for boys held annually in the UK with a national final held at the Winter Gardens in Blackpool, England. The finals also include the judging of ''Miss Dance of Great Britain'', and the ''International Ballet Championships''. Qualifying Entrants who wish to compete in the national finals of Dance Master, must first qualify for the competition by winning a regional heat. Billy George (gymnast)
Billy George (born 4 April 1991) is a British gymnast. Education George trained IDTA Ballet, Tap, and Modern Jazz at his mother's dance school, Armley Dance Studios, Leeds. Billy attended Intake Arts College in Bramley, Leeds, a specialist performing arts school. In 2009, he attended the National Centre for Circus Arts in London formally known as Circus Space. Career George first became well known on Britain's Got Talent (series 6) where he was a semi-finalist. He then went on to be a professional gymnast on BBC series, ''Tumble'', where his celebrity partner was TOWIE's Lucy Mecklenburgh. Matthew Koon
Matthew Koon is a British actor and dancer. Career Koon began studying ballet at the age of 2, at the Alison Livesey School of Dance and Drama in Whitefield, Greater Manchester. At the age of 9, he auditioned for the Royal Ballet School Junior Associate programme, he was successful and consequently attended weekly classes in Leeds. He also trained at Centre Pointe Dance Studios in Manchester, before taking a full-time place at the English National Ballet School. Character Dance
Character dance is a specific subdivision of classical dance. It is the stylized representation of a traditional folk or national dance, mostly from European countries, and uses movements and music which have been adapted for the theater. Character dance is integral to much of the classical ballet repertoire. A good example of character dance within ballet is the series of national dances which take place at the beginning of Act II of ''Swan Lake''. The ballet ''Don Quixote'' also features many character variations based on traditional Spanish dances. International Dance Teachers Association
The International Dance Teachers Association (IDTA) is a dance teaching and examination board based in Brighton, England. Operating internationally, the IDTA currently has over 7,000 members in 55 countries. The IDTA is recognised by the national qualifications regulators in England and Wales, Ofqual and the Council for Dance Education and Training, and is also affiliated to the British Dance Council, the Central Council of Physical Recreation and the Theatre Dance Council International.
