Dan Rohn
Daniel Jay Rohn (born January 10, 1956) is a former infielder in Major League Baseball. Rohn was drafted as a second baseman by the Chicago Cubs in the 4th round of the 1977 amateur draft, and made his major league debut on September 2, 1983. He was traded by the Cubs to the Cleveland Indians for Jay Baller on April 1, 1985. Before joining the Seattle Mariners as a coach in 2006, Rohn was the manager of the Pacific Coast League's Tacoma Rainiers from 2001–2005. As the skipper for the Rainiers, he was named the PCL Manager of the Year in 2001 and again in 2004 & 2005. In 2001, he led the Rainiers to a Pacific Coast League co-championship shared with the New Orleans Zephyrs. In 2005 the team again reached the championship series, but lost 3–0 to the Nashville Sounds. Infielder
An infielder is a baseball player stationed at one of four defensive "infield" positions on the baseball field. Standard arrangement of positions In a game of baseball, two teams of nine players take turns playing offensive and defensive roles. Although there are many rules to baseball, in general the team playing offense tries to score runs by batting balls into the field that enable runners to make a complete circuit of the four bases. Minnesota Twins
The Minnesota Twins are an American professional baseball team based in Minneapolis. The Twins compete in Major League Baseball (MLB) as a member club of the American League (AL) Central Division. The team is named after the Twin Cities area which includes the two adjoining cities of Minneapolis and St. Paul. The franchise was founded in Washington, D.C., in 1901 as the Washington Senators. 2022 Frontier League Season
The 2022 Frontier League season is the 29th season of professional baseball in the Frontier League since its creation in June 1993. There are 16 Frontier League teams, split evenly between two divisions, the East, and West divisions. Season schedule After the folding of the Southern Illinois Miners, the league brought back the Frontier Greys as the 16th member of the Frontier League, operating as a road travel team for the season. The 16 teams in the league are split evenly between two divisions, the East, and West divisions. The season will be played with a 96-game schedule, teams play either three or four series against their division rivals while facing the eight teams from the other division at least once each. Lake Erie Crushers
The Lake Erie Crushers are a professional baseball team based in Avon, Ohio, a city near the southern shore of Lake Erie. They are members of the West Division of the Frontier League, an independent baseball league which is not affiliated with Major League Baseball. The Crushers won the 2009 Frontier League championship in their inaugural season. They defeated the River City Rascals, three games to two, after losing the first two games of the series. Frontier League
The Frontier League is a professional independent baseball league with teams in the Northeastern and Midwestern United States and Eastern Canada. Formed in 1993, it is the oldest currently running independent league in the United States. The league is headquartered in Sauget, Illinois. In 2020, the Frontier League, together with the American Association and the Atlantic League, became an official MLB Partner League. The league has a partnership agreement with the California Winter League for player development. Traverse City Beach Bums
The Traverse City Beach Bums were a professional baseball team based in the Traverse City, Michigan suburb of Blair Township from 2006-2018. The Beach Bums played in the independent Frontier League. The Beach Bums were established in 2006 when the Richmond Roosters franchise was purchased and moved from Richmond, Indiana. The Roosters had begun playing in the third season of the Frontier League and existed from 1995-2005. The Beach Bums played their home games at Wuerfel Park in Traverse City, named for then owners John and Leslye Wuerfel. The Roosters played at Don McBride Stadium in Richmond. Triple-A (officially Class AAA) has been the highest level of play in Minor League Baseball in the United States since 1946. Currently, two sports league, leagues operate at the Triple-A level, the International League (IL) and the Pacific Coast League (PCL). There are 30 teams, one per each Major League Baseball (MLB) franchise, with 20 in the IL and 10 in the PCL.
