Daggett School District
Daggett School District is a public school district in Daggett County, Utah, United States. The district provides education for students living in Daggett County, as well as more than two dozen students from adjacent areas in Wyoming. It is the smallest of the 41 school districts in Utah, with a total of three schools and 181 students. Description Daggett School District operates shelter Pre-K programs (for students age 3–5 who qualify for an Individualized Education Program (IEP) at each elementary school. The district hosts a remote site of Utah State University's Distance Education system, which provides concurrent (dual) enrollment for high school students as well as post-secondary courses for adults. Manila is a small city located on the northern edge of Daggett County, Utah, United States, just south of the Wyoming border. The town is at the junction of State Route 43 and State Route 44, and is the county seat of Daggett County. Nearby sites include the Flaming Gorge National Recreation Area and the Flaming Gorge Reservoir just east of town, and to the south is Ashley National Forest, which includes Kings Peak (13,528 ft), the highest point in Utah. The population of Manila was 310 at the 2010 census. The settlement was named in 1898, commemorating the American naval victory at the Battle of Manila Bay in the Philippines. An Individualized Education Program (IEP) is a legal document under United States law that is developed for each public school child in the U.S. who needs special education. It is created through a team of the child's parent(s) and district personnel who are knowledgeable about the child's needs. IEPs must be reviewed every year to keep track of the child's educational progress. An IEP outlines the special education experience for all eligible students with a disability. Dutch John, Utah
Dutch John is a town located in eastern Daggett County, Utah, United States, approximately northeast of the Flaming Gorge Dam on U.S. Route 191. The population was 145 at the 2010 census. History The town (but a census-designated place before 2016) was platted and constructed beginning in 1957 by the United States Bureau of Reclamation to house workers working on the construction of Flaming Gorge Dam. After the dam's completion in 1964, Dutch John became home to a smaller number of dam maintenance and operations personnel, as well as employees of the National Park Service and United States Forest Service. The Dutch John townsite and its buildings continued to be owned by the Bureau of Reclamation until 1998 when the town was privatized. Buildings were sold to individual landowners, and undeveloped land in the town was transferred to Daggett County. Uintah County ( ) is a county in the U.S. state of Utah. As of the 2020 United States Census the population was 35,620. Its county seat and largest city is Vernal.
