Da Mob
Da Mob was an American house collaboration between producer/DJs Erick Morillo, José Nunez and DJ Sneak, featuring vocals by Jocelyn Brown. Biography Da Mob scored a number-one US ''Billboard'' Hot Dance Music/Club Play chart hit in 1998 with "Fun". The track was written by Karen Gordon (a.k.a. Dajae), who was supposed to be the featured singer on the single and had recorded a test pressing. However, a contract dispute between Gordon and Morillo's Subliminal Records resulted in Brown taking over the vocal duties when the single was released. "Fun" peaked at No. 33 on the UK Singles Chart in May 1998, and a follow-up single, "It's All Good" reached No. 54 in July 1999. Fun (Da Mob Song)
"Fun" is a song recorded by Da Mob, an American house music collective that featured producers Erick Morillo, José Nunez, Carlos "DJ Sneak" Sosa, singer/songwriter Karen "Dajae" Gordon (who wrote the single with the trio) and lead vocalist Jocelyn Brown, who chanted the song's main lyrics, "We're gonna have some fun tonight!" throughout the entire song. The single reached number one on the ''Billboard'' Hot Dance Club Play chart the week of April 18, 1998 and spent one week there. It was also the first single release from Morillo's label Subliminal Records, which he also launched in 1998. At first, "Fun" was supposed to feature Dajae as the lead vocalist, which drew positive response via test pressings and buzz across the Atlantic, but Dajae refused to sign the contract with Subliminal, and Brown was brought in to re-record the vocals. Full Intention is an English house music duo consisting of Michael Gray and Jon Pearn. They are best known as prolific producers and remixers. They have reworked songs for varied artists such as the Sugababes, Whitney Houston, Mariah Carey and Frankie Knuckles, among others. Biography As the group Hustlers Convention, Jon Pearn and Michael Gray produced their own house tracks and remixed many others, including "Street life" by C. J. Lewis and "Got Myself Together" by the Bucket Heads. Their first release was The Groovers delight EP in 1992 on Stress Records. Erick Morillo (March 26, 1971 – September 1, 2020) was a Colombian-American disc jockey, music producer, and record label owner. Having produced under a number of pseudonyms, including Ministers de la Funk, The Dronez, RAW, Smooth Touch, RBM, Deep Soul, Club Ultimate, and Li'l Mo Ying Yang, Morillo was best known for his international work in house music, in particular for the label Strictly Rhythm, and the 1993 hit " I Like to Move It", which he produced under the pseudonym Reel 2 Real, and which was featured in commercials, movies, and ringtones. Karen Gordon, better known by her stage name Dajae (), is a female R&B and dance music singer born in Chicago, Illinois. Biography Dajae sang in various soul bands for over a decade prior to working with house music producer Cajmere, who featured her on his 1992 single "Brighter Days", which peaked at number two for two weeks on the American dance chart. "Time", "U Got Me Up" and "Is It All Over My Face" were also hit singles. Her only album, ''Higher Power'' (1995), released on Cajual Records, followed.
