DR P1
DR P1 – in Denmark normally referred to as simply P1 – is a Danish radio station operated by the Danish Broadcasting Corporation. P1 has evolved into a pure voice channel with a focus on news, documentaries, political debates, education, general cultural, scientific and social programming. Since 1 November 2011 P1 has had to share its nationwide FM channel frequencies with P2 since DR lost the rights to continue the use of the fourth nationwide FM channel which P2 had been using. P1 broadcasts on the FM channel during daytime. Both channels continued as two separate channels digitally on DAB and online. History The station was established in 1925 with the start of operations of Statsradiofonien. In 1959 Statsradiofonien changed its name to Danmarks Radio, and to DR in 1996. Radio Broadcasting
Radio broadcasting is transmission of audio (sound), sometimes with related metadata, by radio waves to radio receivers belonging to a public audience. DR P3
DR P3 (referred to in Denmark simply as P3) is a Danish current-based hit music radio station operated by the Danish Broadcasting Corporation. It is broadcast on FM radio, DAB, and Internet radio. It commenced broadcasting on 1 January 1963 as ''Musikradioen'' in response to the popularity of the offshore pirate radio station Radio Mercur, which had been outlawed by the Danish parliament in June 1962. In April 1966 the station became ''Danmarks Radio Program 3'' and to ''Danmarks Radio P3'' in 1971. On 1 October 2017 P3 became available on DAB+ radio when a nationwide switch-over took place. Thomas Blachman
Thomas Blachman (born 1963) is a Danish jazz musician, composer, and judge on the Danish version of ''X Factor''. Biography Blachman is the son of Henning and Annie Blachman. One of his grandfathers is Isak Blachman, a Jewish immigrant from Vitebsk, Belarus, who moved in 1911. He was married until 2012 to Viola Heyn-Johnsen. ''X Factor'' In 2008, Blachman joined Lina Rafn and Remee on the judging panel for the first season of the Danish version of ''X Factor''. He mentored the Over 25s category in his first season and finished in third place with Heidi Svelmøe Herløw. Despite reports that he would leave after the first season, he returned for the second season in 2009 and was given the Under 25s, but finished in third place with Mohamed Ali. Drømde Mik En Drøm I Nat
Drømde mik en drøm i nat is the oldest known secular music, secular song in the Nordic countries, written around 1300. It is written in Old Norse#Old East Norse, Old East Norse and is included in Codex Runicus, a transcript of Scanian Law where it forms a final note. Like the law itself, it is written in runes, and the tune is written on two simple staves in an early form of musical notation. The song is sung in episode 6 of ''Vikings (2013 TV series), Vikings''. DR P2
DR P2 – in Denmark normally referred to as simply P2 – is a Danish radio station operated by the Danish Broadcasting Corporation. It specializes in classical music, both recorded and in live performance, as well as reporting on and providing discussion of the classical music scene. Since 1991 P2 has organized a chamber music competition for promising young musicians, held every 2 years. History On 1 October 1951 the then ''Statsradiofonien'' launched their second radio station, called ''Program 2''. In 1959 Statsradiofonien changed its name to Danmarks Radio, and to DR in 1996. In 1960 Danmarks Radio started regional programming on P2 in the evenings. The station switched to nationwide stereo output on 1 October 1969 after some regional trials.
