DD Retro
DD Retro is an Indian Hindi-language TV channel. It was launched by Prasar Bharati on 13 April 2020. It is a free-to-air general entertainment channel on which old classic shows of Doordarshan are telecasted, DD Retro channel has been added to Doordarshan's DTT service which is available in 19 cities across India. It is primarily dedicated to telecast Doordarshan's old classic TV productions from the 80s and 90s, many being the country's highest rating series ever produced for television. Doordarshan
Doordarshan (abbreviated as DD; Hindi: , ) is an Indian public service broadcaster founded by the Government of India, owned by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting and one of Prasar Bharati's two divisions. One of India's largest broadcasting organisations in studio and transmitter infrastructure, it was established on 15 September 1959. Doordarshan, which also broadcasts on digital terrestrial transmitters, provides television, radio, online and mobile service throughout metropolitan and regional India and overseas. ''Buniyaad'' (literally ''Foundation'') is an Indian television soap opera directed by Ramesh Sippy and Jyoti. The series was written by Manohar Shyam Joshi and dealt with the Partition of India in 1947 and its aftermath. It first aired in 1986 on the Indian state television channel DD National. Shaktimaan
Shaktimaan is an Indian Hindi-language superhero television show, created by Mukesh Khanna that aired on DD National from 13 September 1997 to 27 March 2005. Producer Mukesh Khanna played the role of Shaktimaan and his alter ego "Pandit Gangadhar Vidhyadhar Mayadhar Omkarnath Shastri", a photographer for the newspaper Aaj Ki Aawaz. Shaktimaan was depicted as a human who has attained superhuman powers through meditation and five elements of nature: Space, Earth, Air, Fire, Water. Kitu Gidwani (later replaced by Vaishnavi Mahant) played the role of Geeta Vishwas, a reporter who loves Shaktimaan. Surendra Pal played the role of Tamraj Kilvish. Alif Laila
''Alif Laila'' is an Indian television series based on the '' One Thousand and One Nights'', also known as the ''Arabian Nights''. It was produced by Sagar Arts. It was made in two seasons. The series from 1993 to 1997 for 143 episodes on DD National. The plotline of the series starts from the very beginning when Shahrzad starts telling stories to Shahryar and contains both the well-known and the lesser-known stories from the ''One Thousand and One Nights'' which are mentioned here. Draupadi ( sa, द्रौपदी, draupadī, Daughter of Drupada), also referred to as Krishnaa, Panchali, and Yagyaseni, is the main female protagonist of the Hindu epic ''Mahabharata,'' and the common consort of the five Pandava brothers—Yudhishthira, Bhima, Arjuna, Nakula, and Sahadeva. She is noted for her beauty, courage, and a rare Polyandry, polyandrous marriage. Vishnu Puran (also written ''Vishnupuran'') is an Television in india, Indian television series, by Baldev Raj Chopra, B. R. Chopra on the Hindu deity Vishnu. It is based on the ''Bhagavata Purana''. ''Bhagavata Purana'' tells about the dashavatara, 10 incarnations of Vishnu, as well as other stories, such as the legend of Dhruva. The weekly series first aired Sunday morning, January 23, 2000 on Zee TV. The 124 episodes were later released on DD National. He is best known for portraying the role of Lord Rama in Ramanand Sagar's epic Television Series '' Ramayan'' and King Vikramāditya in ''Vikram Aur Betaal''. ''Shrimaan Shrimati'' (Translation : Mr. Mrs.) is an Indian Hindi-language sitcom that aired on Doordarshan from 1994 to 1997. It starred Jatin Kanakia, Rakesh Bedi, Reema Lagoo and Archana Puran Singh.
