Corrie Pabst
Cornelia "Corrie" Johanna Pabst (1865-1943) was a Dutch artist. Biography Pabst was born on 12 November 1865 in Woerden. She studied at the ''Akademie van beeldende kunsten (Den Haag)'' ( Royal Academy of Art, The Hague). She was a student of Henk Bremmer. Her work was included in the 1939 exhibition and sale '' Onze Kunst van Heden'' (Our Art of Today) at the Rijksmuseum The Rijksmuseum () is the national museum of the Netherlands dedicated to Dutch arts and history and is located in Amsterdam. Julie De Graag
Anna Julia "Julie" de Graag, was born at Gorinchem on 18 July 1877 and died at The Hague on 2 February 1924. She was a Dutch watercolourist, printmaker, and painter. Biography Family Born in Gorinchem, Julie de Graag was the fourth of six children. After her third birthday, their parents, Johannes de Graag (1839-1916) and Karoline Stephana Couwenberg (1850-1935), moved to Bois-le-Duc. As a child, she was identified as having a fragile health, and received special attention. Her mother, who was a talented amateur painter, passed on to her daughter her passion for manual work and drawing. In the 1890s, the family moved to The Hague. Education Julie de Graag quickly entered the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in The Hague, in a class made up solely of women. The Royal Academy of Art (KABK, nl, Koninklijke Academie van Beeldende Kunsten) is an art and design academy in The Hague. Henk Bremmer
Hendricus Peter (Henk) Bremmer (17 May 1871, Leiden – 10 January 1956, The Hague) was a Dutch painter, art critic, art teacher, collector and art dealer. He was the father of the painter Rudolph Bremmer (1900–1993). Bremmer trained as a painter and artist, working in journalism from 1893–1895 and began teaching art in 1896. In the 1906-1907 season, Helene Kröller-Müller, then one of the richest women in the Netherlands, was his pupil and she soon began collecting art. Bremmer advised her to put together a collection, later forming the basis of the Kröller-Müller Museum. He also advised Hugo Tutein Nolthenius who kept of bust of him in his collection. Bremmer had contact with many artists. He lived from 1902 until his death in Artiestenhof in The Hague. Onze Kunst Van Heden
Onze Kunst van Heden (Contemporary Artists/Our Art of Today) was an exhibition held in the winter of 1939 through 1940 at the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam. Due to the threat of invasion in the years leading up to World War II, the Netherlands' government stored many items from the Rijksmuseum's permanent collection. The resulting empty gallery space was utilized by contemporary Dutch artists to exhibit and sell their art. It was organized by the director of the Rijksmuseum . The show was open to all artists, with each artist allowed to enter four pieces. 902 artists exhibited 3,200 works of art in 74 rooms and cabinets of the Rijksmuseum. Centraal Museum
The Centraal Museum is the main museum in Utrecht, Netherlands, founded in 1838. The museum has a wide-ranging collection, mainly of works produced locally. The collection of the paintings by the Northern Mannerist Joachim Wtewael is by a long way the largest anywhere in the world. Other highlights are many significant paintings by the Utrecht Caravaggisti, such as Gerard van Honthorst and Hendrick ter Brugghen.
