Communion (Septic Flesh Album)
''Communion'' is the seventh studio album by Greek death metal band Septicflesh. It was released on March 17, 2008 worldwide, and March 25, 2008 in the United States, both dates through the French label Season of Mist. The album is the first since the band's split up, after the release of ''Sumerian Daemons'' in 2003, and the first to be released under the name "Septicflesh" following the band's name change. Background and production Septicflesh first announced a reunion show at the Metal Healing Festival in their home-country on February 19, 2007 and shortly hereafter a new full-length on French label Season of Mist. ''Communion'' including a full classical orchestra, arranged by guitarist Christos Antoniou, who has a master's degree in concert music from the London College of Music. Septicflesh (formerly known as Septic Flesh) are a Greek death metal band from Athens, founded in 1990. History Septicflesh were formed in Athens in March 1990 by Sotiris Vayenas (guitar), Spiros Antoniou (bass and vocals), and Christos Antoniou (guitars). They released a debut EP, ''Temple of the Lost Race'' in December with Black Power Records, 1991. The band recorded their first full-length album, '' Mystic Places of Dawn'', in April 1994 at the Storm studio with the co-production of Magus Wampyr Daoloth (who had been the keyboardist for Rotting Christ). released by Holy Records. They started working on a new album for 1995 and named it '' Esoptron''. A season is a division of the year based on changes in weather, ecology, and the number of daylight hours in a given region. Compact Disc
The compact disc (CD) is a Digital media, digital optical disc data storage format that was co-developed by Philips and Sony to store and play digital audio recordings. In August 1982, the first compact disc was manufactured. It was then released in October 1982 in Japan and branded as ''Compact Disc Digital Audio, Digital Audio Compact Disc''. The format was later adapted (as CD-ROM) for general-purpose data storage. Marios Iliopoulos (born 16 December 1969 in Sydney, Australia) is a Greek guitarist and founder of the melodic death metal band Nightrage, and a former member of Exhumation. After recording three albums with Exhumation (all of them produced in Sweden), Marios formed Nightrage along with fellow Greek guitar hero Gus G.
