Cheongju City Football Club was a South Korean football club based in the city of Cheongju. The club, originally named Cheonan FC and based in the city of Cheonan, rebranded to Cheongju City FC in February 2016. In October 2018, the club merged with Cheongju FC. Cheongju FC
Chungbuk Cheongju FC (Korean: 충북 청주 FC), formerly Cheongju FC (Korean: 청주 FC), is a South Korean football club based in the city of Cheongju that competes in the K League 2, the second tier of South Korean football. The club was founded in 2002 and play their home games at the Cheongju Sports Complex Stadium. History The club was founded in 2002 as Cheongju Solveig Football Club, and competed at amateur level. 2014 Challengers League
The 2014 Challengers League was the eighth season of the Challengers League. The league was known as Daum K3 Challengers League 2014 due to sponsorship reasons. Competition format The 2014 season ran from March 8 through October 18. The 18 teams in the league were divided into the Group A and Group B — nine in the Group A and nine in the Group B. Korean National Sports Festival
The Korean National Sports Festival is an annual sports competition held in South Korea. For a full week each October, about 20,000 athletes representing 16 cities and provinces throughout the country compete in about 40 separate sports. The site rotates among the major cities, including Seoul, Busan, Daegu, Gwangju and Incheon. The 2005 festival was held in Ulsan and the 2009 festival in Daejeon. Competitions are held in High School, College, and Regular Divisions. History The current annual numbering originates from the 1920 All-Korea Baseball Series and the formation of the Korean Sports Festival (조선체육회). The Japanese colonial government held a multi-sport competition in 1925, but the Korean Sports Festival first became a national multi-sport competition in 1934, with baseball, soccer, tennis, track and field, and basketball. 2016 K3 League
The 2016 K3 League was the tenth season of amateur K3 League. Before the start of the 2016 season, Seoul FC Martyrs withdrew from the league, but Buyeo FC, Siheung Citizen and Yangpyeong FC joined the league. The top five teams of the regular season qualified for the championship playoffs, and winners of the regular season advanced to the final directly. On the other hand, eight teams of participating teams had to be relegated to the K3 League Basic, founded as the second division of the K3 League in 2017. The bottom five teams of the regular season were directly relegated, and three losing teams were additionally relegated after the relegation playoffs, contested between four teams from 12th to 15th-placed team.
