Caroline Allen
Caroline Allen (born June 18, 1992 in Attleboro, Massachusetts) is an American women's international motorcycle trials rider. Biography Allen first competed in the NATC Women's Trials Championship in 2005, scoring a third-place finish in the final New York round, enough to give her 10th place in the championship. She returned in 2006 and entered three rounds, taking her first national victory in Rhode Island and ending the season with a good 4th place. After skipping national events in 2007, Allen returned to compete in her first full season in 2008, taking podium finishes in all six rounds and finishing the season in 3rd place behind Canadian Christy Williams and Sarah Duke. Allen was selected to represent the US in the annual FIM Trial des Nations event held in Andorra alongside Duke and Louise Forsley. The US women's team finished in 7th position. Attleboro, Massachusetts
Attleboro is a city in Bristol County, Massachusetts, United States. It was once known as "The Jewelry Capital of the World" for its many jewelry manufacturers. Motorcycle trials, also known as observed trials, often called simply trial/s (with or without the plural "s"), is a non-speed event on specialized motorcycles. The sport is most popular in the United Kingdom and Spain, though there are participants around the globe. Modern trials motorcycles are distinctive in that they have evolved to become extremely lightweight, lack seating (they are designed to be ridden standing up) and have suspension travel that is short, relative to a motocross or enduro motorcycle. Christy Williams
Christy Williams (born 14 August 1980), is an international women's motorcycle trials rider. Williams is a four time Canadian Women's Trials Champion and ten time American NATC Women's Trials Champion. Biography Williams was born in New Westminster, British Columbia, Canada. In 1999 Williams headed over the border into the United States to compete in the NATC Women's Trials Championship . She won the 1999 series ahead of American rider Pam DeBruin then returned to defend her title in 2000 and 2001, both years winning ahead of her sister Kerry Williams. They repeated their one-two combination again in 2003 and 2004, then Christy won in 2005 ahead of Louise Forsley. Williams returned to take three more titles in 2008 until 2010. Sarah Duke
Sarah Duke (born 28 October 1987 in Colorado Springs, Colorado, United States), is an international women's motorcycle trials rider. Biography Duke began riding trials in 2001. In 2005, she was selected for the US Women's Trial des Nations team with Nicole Bradford and Louise Forsley to compete in Italy. The team finished in 9th place. Duke finished the 2006 season with third place in the US NATC Women's Trials Championship behind the Canadian Gas-Gas rider Kerry Williams and the American Sherco rider Caroline Altman. With Forsley, Duke competed for the US Trial des Nations team in France, finishing 7th. In 2007, Duke put together a string of top two finishes, including a win in Tennessee and a pair of wins in Ohio. Trial Des Nations
''Trial des Nations'' is the most important Motorcycle trials competition of national teams organized by the International Motorcycling Federation (FIM). After the experiment of Myslenice, Poland, the first official ''trial of Nations'' was held in Canzo, Italy, and managed by the Moto Club Canzo. The Italian club also proposed to maintain this event as a yearly competition. Since then, it has been held annually at different countries. Each team is composed of four riders in the male category, and since 2000, three riders in the female category. The team with fewest total penalties is awarded the title. Louise Forsley
Louise Forsley (born 7 June 1990 in Greenfield, Massachusetts, United States) is an International Women's motorcycle trials rider. Forsley rode the US NATC National Championships and the FIM World Trials Championships. Forsley is a two time Women's National Champion. Louise competed in the 2012 Xgames in Los Angeles, California and took home the silver medal. Biography Forsley grew up in Bernardston, Massachusetts. She finished third in the 2004 US NATC Women's Trials Championship behind the Canadian Gas Gas duo of Christy Williams and Kerry Williams. She was selected as part of the US Trial des Nations team and traveled to Spain along with Nicole Bradford and Debbie Evans Leavitt. The team finished 8th. Rachel Hassler (born 22 May 1995 in Albuquerque, New Mexico, United States), is an American women's International motorcycle trials rider. Hassler is a three time NATC Women's Trials Champion and member of the American Trial Des Nations team. Biography Rachel first competed in the NATC Women's national series in 2010, scoring in all rounds and finishing the season in a creditable 4th place. In 2011, she went one better, ending the season in 3rd place behind Caroline Allen and Colorado rider Sarah Duke. The 2012 season started well for Hassler, a pair of wins at the opening two rounds in California set her up for a good season. Rounds 3 and 4 didn't go quite as planned but the title chase was back on track following a 2nd place and a win in Ohio. The final two rounds in Rhode Island saw Rachel take another win and a runner up place to bag her first NATC Women's Title ahead of Caroline Allen. Madeleine Hoover
Madeleine Hoover (born December 17, 1998), is an American women's International motorcycle trials rider. Hoover has been a member of the American Women's Trial des Nations team several times and was a NATC Women's Pro Class Champion. Biography Hoover was born in Raleigh, North Carolina, In 2013, Hoover won her first NATC Trials Championship. She won the opening two rounds in New York, then took a 2nd and a 1st place in Vermont. She won again in Arizona, and ended her season with a 2nd place and a win in New Mexico. She took the title without contesting the final two rounds. In 2014, Hoover took 1st place on the opening day in Colorado, and finished third on day 2. In Kansas, Hoover took the series lead with a win and a 2nd place. Hoover then won in Pennsylvania. Gas Gas
Gas Gas is a Spanish motorcycle manufacturer established in 1985 by Narcìs Casas and Josep Pibernat in Salt, Girona. The company specializes in off-road motorcycles for trials and enduro competitions. Gas Gas was purchased by KTM motorcycles in 2019. After the sale to KTM, Gas Gas's off-road models were purchased by Spanish motorcycle manufacturer Rieju. Company history In 1973, Narcìs Casas and Josep Pibernat began operating a Bultaco motorcycle franchise in Salt. With the financial demise of the Bultaco factory in 1979, Casas and Pibernat began importing Italian SWM motorcycles until 1984 when, the manufacturer ceased operations. Casas and Pibernat then embarked on a programme to manufacture trial motorbikes for sale in their shop. FIM Trial European Championship
The FIM Trials European Championship is organised by the Fédération Internationale de Motocyclisme and has been held since 1992. The championship gives up and coming riders a chance to compete at international level against top class riders, many who have progressed to become champions in the FIM Trial World Championship such as current champion Toni Bou and past champions Dougie Lampkin and Adam Raga History The Inaugural championship was held in 1992 with a single class format. In 1999 a women's class was added in part due to the addition of a women's class In the FIM Trial World Championship series the previous year. In 2004 a European Junior class was added, with many riders starting in the junior class before progressing through to the Pro class main series.
