Carl Wentorf
Carl Christian Ferdinand Wentorf (25 April 1863 – 24 November 1914) was a Danish painter. His works included genre pieces and portraits. He won the Royal Danish Art Academy's Annual Medal in 1901. Biography Carl Wentorf was born in Copenhagen, the son of furnituremaker Heinrich Frederik Wentorf and Cecilie Juditha (née) Wandschneider. He attended the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts from 1881 to 1887. He had his debut at the Charlottenborg Exhibition in 1897 with a portrait of the landscape painter Carl Frederik Aagaard. He travelled widely in the 1890s with economic support both from the Academy and Det Ancherske Legat, especially to Germany, France, Italy and the Netherlands.. Wentorf exhibited regularly at Charlottenborg as well as at a number of exhibitions abroad. His style was conservative and showed influence from Frederik Vermehren. Amager
Amager ( or, especially among older speakers, ) in the Øresund is Denmark's most densely populated island, with more than 212,000 inhabitants (January 2021) a small appendage to Zealand. The protected natural area of ''Naturpark Amager'' (including Kalvebod Fælled) makes up more than one-third of the island's total area of 96 km2. The Danish capital, Copenhagen Municipality, is partly situated on Amager, covering the northern part of the island, which is connected to the much larger island of Zealand by eight bridges and a metro tunnel. Fuglsang Art Museum ( da, Fuglsang Kunstmuseum) is an art museum set in rural surroundings in Guldborgsund Municipality on the island of Lolland in Denmark. It is part of the Fuglsang Cultural Centre. The museum features Danish art with an emphasis on artists and motifs of local provenance.
