Caprichosos De Pilares
The Grêmio Recreativo Escola de Samba Caprichosos de Pilares (or simply Caprichosos de Pilares) is a Brazilian samba school of Rio de Janeiro based in the neighborhood of Pilares. It was founded on February 19, 1949 by Oscar Lino, Dagoberto Bernardo, Valter Machado, Romão da Silva, Gilberto Ribeiro, Amarildo Cristiano, João Cândido, Sebastian Benjamin, Tia Alvarinda and Athayde Pereira although many historians the point as sort of dissent from another former association in Pilares: Unidos da Terra Nova. However this school was on the outskirts of the currently defunct Terra Nova in what now today and part of Pilares. A sambists group decided create a new entity. Portela (samba School)
The Grêmio Recreativo Escola de Samba Portela in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil is a decorated, traditional samba school. It was champion of the 2017 Carnival parade and has the highest number of wins in the top-tier Rio parade, with 22 titles in total. History At the start of the 20th century, in Oswaldo Cruz, a neighborhood in the city of Rio de Janeiro there was a carnivalesque group of dancers called ''Quem Fala de Nós Come Mosca'' literally translated as "Who talks about us eats flies". They were based in Dona Ester. A dissidence of this group of dancers (called "bloco" in Brazilian Portuguese) appeared in 1922 and another ''bloco'', the ''Baianinhas de Oswaldo Cruz'' ( Baianas of Oswaldo Cruz) was created. Alberto Santos-Dumont
Alberto Santos-Dumont (Santos Dumont, Minas Gerais, Palmira, 20 July 1873 — Guarujá, 23 July 1932) was a Brazilian aeronaut, sportsman, inventor, and one of the few people to have contributed significantly to the early development of both lighter-than-air and heavier-than-air aircraft. The heir of a wealthy family of coffee producers, he dedicated himself to aeronautical study and experimentation in Paris, where he spent most of his adult life. Cinematography (from ancient Greek κίνημα, ''kìnema'' "movement" and γράφειν, ''gràphein'' "to write") is the art of motion picture (and more recently, electronic video camera) photography. Chico Anysio (born Francisco Anysio de Oliveira Paula Filho, 12 April 1931 – 23 March 2012) was a Brazilian actor, comedian, writer and composer. Biography Anysio was born in Maranguape, Ceará. Festa da Uva (Festival of the grape) is a celebration of Italian heritage and culture held biennially in Caxias do Sul, Rio Grande do Sul, in southern Brazil. The Festa da Uva is held in February of every even-numbered year. During the Festa da Uva, the Caxias do Sul pavilions host attractions mainly from South America, but also from other regions of the world. Visitors taste cheese, grapes and various Brazilian wines. 1798 Revolt Of The Alfaiates
The Bahian Conspiracy, also known as Revolt of the Tailors (after the trade of many of the leaders) and recently also called Revolt of Buzios, was a late eighteenth century slave rebellion in the then Captaincy of Bahia, in the State of Brazil. Unlike the Inconfidência Mineira of 1789, it was a separatist movement with a popular base and extensive black participation. The objectives of the rebelling baianos were, according to Clóvis Moura, "much more radical," and the proposal to liberate the slaves was one of the main goals. Its leaders and members included "freed blacks, black slaves, pardo slaves, freed pardos, artisans, tailors; those who were from the most oppressed or discriminated classes of Bahia colonial society". Ilha Fiscal
Ilha Fiscal, or Fiscal Island, is an island in Guanabara Bay, bordering the historic city center of Rio de Janeiro, in southeastern Brazil.
