Calmon Viana (CPTM)
Calmon Viana is a train station on CPTM Lines Line 11-Coral and 12-Sapphire, located in Calmon Viana, district of Poá. History Built along with Variante de Poá by EFCB on 7 February 1926, only was opened with the branch on 1 January 1934. It was named after the assistant engineer of the 5th Division of EFCB, Antonio Calmon Viana. Island Platform
An island platform (also center platform, centre platform) is a station layout arrangement where a single platform is positioned between two tracks within a railway station, tram stop or transitway interchange. Island platforms are popular on twin-track routes due to pragmatic and cost reasons. They are also useful within larger stations where local and express services for the same direction of travel can be provided from opposite sides of the same platform thereby simplifying transfers between the two tracks. An alternative arrangement is to position side platforms on either side of the tracks. The historical use of island platforms depends greatly upon the location. Side Platform
A side platform (also known as a marginal platform or a single-face platform) is a platform positioned to the side of one or more railway tracks or guideways at a railway station, tram stop, or transitway. A station having dual side platforms, one for each direction of travel, is the basic design used for double-track railway lines (as opposed to, for instance, the island platform where a single platform lies between the tracks). Cross-platform Interchange
A cross-platform interchange is a type of interchange between different lines at a metro (or other railway) station. The term originates with the London Underground; such layouts exist in other networks but are not commonly so named. In the United States, it is often referred to as a cross-platform transfer. This configuration occurs at a station with island platforms, with a single platform in between the tracks allocated to two directions of travel, or two side platforms between the tracks, connected by level corridors. The benefit of this design is that passengers do not need to use stairs to another platform level for transfer. Poá (CPTM)
Poá is a train station on CPTM Line 11-Coral, located in the city of Poá. History With the opening of North Railway in mid-1875, supply posts were created between the stations. One of them was in Poá, then district of Mogi das Cruzes. Only on 1 March 1891 a new building was constructed and the post was promoted to station. With Poá growth, the station existing there was expanded in the 1920s. The construction of the current station started in 1985 by CBTU. Harmed by financial problems, the building of the new building were concluded only in 1989. On 1 June 1994, CBTU stations and lines were transferred to CPTM. Since them, the station belongs to this company. Aracaré is a train station on CPTM Line 12-Sapphire, located of the city of Itaquaquecetuba. History With the implementation of Variante de Poá in 1926, many industries installed in the Aracaré region like Rendal - Indústrias de Renda Ltda and Lanifício Ítamo Adami S/A. This way, a halt named Aracaré was built in the 1940s to attend the factories' workers. On 20 August 1950, the new halt was promoted to station by Estrada de Ferro Central do Brasil, receiving new installations and kept the name Aracaré. With the opening of the new station, imobiliary companies launched projects Vila Ercília and Vila Aracaré, changing the region's profile from few industries to populated residential boroughs.
