Cabramatta
Cabramatta ('Cabra') is a suburb in south-western Sydney, in the state of New South Wales, Australia. Cabramatta is located south-west of the Sydney central business district, in the local government area of the City of Fairfield. Cabramatta has been a melting pot for all manner of Asian and European peoples in the latter half of the 20th century. Since the 1980s, Cabramatta has been a centre for the Vietnamese, as well as many residents from other Asian and European origins. At least as many as a quarter of Vietnamese speakers in Australia had some form of Chinese ancestry. Because of its high Vietnamese population, the suburb has earned the nickname 'Little Saigon'. Cabramatta is an electoral district of the Legislative Assembly in the Australian state of New South Wales. Its current member is Nick Lalich of the Labor Party. Cabramatta is a 25.73 km2 urban electorate in Greater Western Sydney, centred on the suburb of Cabramatta from which it takes its name. It also includes the suburbs of Bonnyrigg, Bonnyrigg Heights, Cabramatta West, Canley Vale, Edensor Park, Greenfield Park, Lansvale, Mount Pritchard and St Johns Park. Cabramatta High School (abbreviated as CHS) is a government-funded co-educational comprehensive secondary day school, located on Aladore Avenue, Cabramatta, a south-western suburb of Sydney, New South Wales, Australia.
