Lansvale, New South Wales
Lansvale is a suburb of Sydney, in the state of New South Wales, Australia 28 kilometres south-west of the Sydney central business district, the other side of Chipping Norton and its lake, in the local government areas of the City of Fairfield and is part of the South-western Sydney region. History Lansvale took its name from a combination of the names of the neighbouring suburbs of Lansdowne and Canley Vale. This area was a most popular recreational site of the early twentieth century. Latty's Pleasure Grounds, the Butterfly Hall, Hollywood Park and the Lansdowne Reserve were popular ventures which fringed the river and lakes system. The amusement parks were struggling by the time of the Great Depression and eventually the land that they occupied was acquired by the council for public reserves. Electoral District Of Cabramatta
Cabramatta is an electoral district of the Legislative Assembly in the Australian state of New South Wales. Its current member is Nick Lalich of the Labor Party. Cabramatta is a 25.73 km2 urban electorate in Greater Western Sydney, centred on the suburb of Cabramatta from which it takes its name. 2016 Australian Census
The 2016 Australian census was the 17th national population census held in Australia. The census was officially conducted with effect on Tuesday, 9 August 2016. The total population of the Commonwealth of Australia was counted as – an increase of 8.8 per cent or people over the . Norfolk Island joined the census for the first time in 2016, adding 1,748 to the population. The ABS annual report revealed that $24 million in additional expenses accrued due to the outage on the census website. Magic Kingdom, Sydney
Magic Kingdom was a small amusement park located in Lansvale, New South Wales, Australia. It is now closed. History and operation The park operated in the 1970s, 1980s and early 1990s. The park was closed not long after Wonderland Sydney opened. The park was promoted on television with commercials featuring the song "Magic" by the band Pilot. Some of the rides were sourced from Luna Park after Luna Park closed in 1979 following the Ghost Train tragedy. Magic Kingdom was popular at its peak but due to size and location (it could only be accessed by a road which went through an industrial area and residential area) the park struggled to remain viable. Lansdowne Bridge
The Lansdowne Bridge is a heritage-listed road bridge that carries the northbound carriageway of the Hume Highway (route A22 at this point) across Prospect Creek between Lansvale and Lansdowne. Situated in southwestern Sydney it is located on the boundary of the Fairfield and Canterbury-Bankstown local government areas. The bridge was named in honour of Henry Petty-Fitzmaurice, 3rd Marquess of Lansdowne (1780-1863), an Irish Whig politician of the British Parliament (at that time all of Ireland was under British rule and was represented in the British parliament) and associate of the NSW Governor of the day, Sir Richard Bourke.
